Stayed one night at the Mid Trail recently. The best part of the stay was probably the access the hotel provides to a beautiful beach just a short walk away. Also, there are some very nice views of the mountains and coast from the property. The accommodations themselves were average. Décor was minimal and linens dated. Just a very basic... More

Great spot!! Views were amazing! We stayed in a mountain view room and the view was spectacular!!!! Had breakfast onsite and was great food, great portion size and great prices. :) One suggestion is a small bar fridge in the room. A place to keep a few cold beverages or medications. Overall great experience.

We stayed here in July 2014. The location is great for touring the western side of the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton National Park and towns as far south as Cheticamp and Inverness. We found the accommodations to be slightly below average. We had a family room, which was very spacious. The bathroom and ac unit both appeared to be brand... More

We could not have been happier with our stay at Midtrail. The area is home to some of the nicest scenery of the Cabot Trail and the views at the motel are no exception! The room was spotless and nicely decorated, the service great and the food was top notch. Will stay again if in the area without hesitation.

We stayed three nights in the Midtrail Hotel and enjoyed them all. We had booked a larger room with balcony view over the bay which was worth it. The room is large , comfortable and very well equipped . Everything works well and where there was an initial problem with the smoke alarm it was sorted effectively and swiftly. The... More

Great view (ocean), decent room, seconds away from the beach, fantastic chefs at the restaurant ( we were so impressed). They tended to take longer to bring us food, but it was totally worth it!! No phones or cell phone service - but that's what we needed! The wifi worked well at the restaurant.. Not so much in our room(... More

We arrived at MidTrail Motel late July 1st. Upon checking in, we were met with the sights and smells of fresh lobster dinner! Right away, we checked in and ordered some lobster dinners and chowder. The restaurant was scheduled to close but the staff were happy to stay open to feed us late travellers :) The lobster dinner was amazing!... More

We stayed here in 2013 and thought it was great. Beautiful spot. The food was very good and we would certainly stay here again. The only downside was the beds but they were replaced so I guess there is no downside. Our family of four stayed in a family room and there was plenty of room, great view.

The MidTrail Motel is in a perfect location for those who wish to take their time exploring the Cabot Trail (and there aren't many other choices!) While dated, I will say that the room and bathroom were clean. The unit a/c (needed when we were there in early July!) was LOUD. Also, the breakfast in the dining room was only... More

Clean, friendly and a nice view of the ocean from the room. Bathroom looked up graded, There was not a coffee pot or kettle to have tea or coffee in the am. It was good for a over night stay . There' a older tv in room but it worked well.
