The Poplar was our first B&B that we stayed in on the Cabot Trail, and it was a very nice experience. It was comfortable, clean, and Brian and Elizabeth were very nice hosts. For the price, the experience was just perfect. The room is just big enough, the washroom was small, but that wasn't a bad thing. The B&B was... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Poplar.....it was very clean and exceeded our expectations. Liz and Brian were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The price value relationship was excellent and this was one of our favorite B&B's that we visited during our 9 days in the Maritimes. The whale watching tour offered nearby was great as... More

We booked both rooms here for 4 of us and it was beautiful. Our first time ever at a B&B. Rooms were modern and awesome, beds comfy, nice little kitchenette for an unhurried breakfast or bedtime snack. Owners are super! They offered up lots of tips and suggestions for our trip as well as best places to eat. If you stay... More

This is a good spot to stop along the Cabot Trail. Elizabeth and Brian were great hosts and gave us great advise on where to go off the Cabot Trail to see some different sights. We ate at the Rusty Anchor where Elizabeth works and had an excellent meal of Mussels, Lobster and Crab. The room we stayed in was... More

Liz and Brian are great! The house is organized in a way that was welcoming to guests. Rooms were clean, the continental breakfast was very good - definitely more than what we expected. Liz also had great recommendations in terms of activities for us to do. Definitely felt like home away from home. Will definitely consider this place again when... More

Elizabeth and Brian are the perfect hosts....location was ideal ( home is within walking distance (a km or so) to the dock in Pleasant bay that provided the viewing of some of the most amazing sunsets we have ever seen! Also, within 10 to 15 minute drive is the Gampo Abbey...not to be missed! And of course, all the hiking... More

Very very nice people, bedroom/bath super clean, good bed. Bedroom a little small but B&B guests have their own kitchen and sitting rooms. It's a great setup. Plenty of choices for the self-serve continental breakfast, and a really nice thing is you use it when you want, no schedule, so you can go out early and have something later or... More

Elizabeth and Brian were really friendly and helpful with information on local resources and Cabot Trail. Clean room with adequate facilities. Breakfast muffins were delicious. Would have no hesitation in staying again.

Probably our favourite place to stay in our time in Nova Scotia and sorry we were only there one night. From the outside The Popular B&B looks charming. The room was small and we had to leave some of our stuff in the car but it was clean and perfectly appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The do it... More

We stayed 2 nights in the month of June at Elizabeth and Brian's cosy Poplar B&B. Excellent value. The room with private shower may seem small, but it has all the comfort needed and is very clean and nicely decorated. Self serve breakfast (with the best home made muffin from Elizabeth) may not be a cooked one, but it has... More
