Lovely place, room was large and clean, tranquil. Nice garden and pool. We had a very lovely dinner. Helpful stuff. Secure parking. WiFi just in the lobby but very fast. We didn't try breakfast, packed our own stuff.

newly refurbished this small hotel is clean and tranquil. it has a pool and a lovely garden with shady palm trees. The small skeleton of staff are helpful, friendly and hard working. The restaurant was pleasant and the food and drink good. The decoration is fitting to the architecture and the overall effect charming. This hotel is much better value... More

If your headed out to enjoy the grey whales in the lagoons of San Igacio, stop by the desert inn and take the 1.25 hour jaunt to the bay early the next morning. The courtyard is nice and the pool refreshing. In the evening, head to Tootsies for a little dinner and drink. My wife joined me at San Ignacio... More

We have stayed here couple of years ago passing through, and then again this February on a whale watching trip. The hotel has been renovated in 2006 and is still quite nice. I like the courtyard architecture with a pool in the middle, and date palms all around. Very quiet. Don't even bother trying to connect to the Internet -... More

This was the best choice when stopping in the desert on the way to Baja Sur. After receiving no response from several communications with rice & beans, we chose the government run Desert Inn. The rooms were acceptable and the shower was immediately HOT ! Breakfast was meager by most US hotel standards, but enough to get us on our... More

Quaint, courtyard style hotel. Walking distance to a lovely town with an old church and traditional plaza. The night I was there the high school dance class put on a performance of regional dances. Beautiful desert gardens behind with millions of stars in the night sky. Bat habitat. The room was very clean and comfortable with hot showers. There is... More

Great service, pleasant surroundings. Stay a few days and walk through town to see the mission and stop at cafes. Longer excursions to see archeological sites/cave paintings and whale whatching available.

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the lovely small town of the same name amidst a lush oasis. Like other Desert Inns run by the government, the spacious rooms surround a large courtyard. Internet signal from room was weak but passable, though could not use Skype.

We've stayed here on two different trips to the lagoon. For some reason, it's more difficult to get a reservation if you use the number given by Expedia -- or try to book online. Best bet is to call the hotel directly: from the US [--]. If the person answering doesn't speak English, they'll get you to someone who does.... More

If you are driving through Baja, Desert Inns are reliably clean, comfortable reasonably priced and pet friendly. After a long day of driving, we found the rooms clean if a bit dark, the showers were hot and the restaurant served pretty good food. This is not a place for a romantic vacation (although it could be with some upgrades and... More
