This hotel is one of a chain in Baja that are mostly privately owned, but according to our tour leader, the Mexican government still owns this one. It and the whole town of San Ignacio suffered greatly in Hurricane Odile last September. There are a couple of things you should know before booking. Some rooms still do not have bathroom... More

We arrived late afternoon in San Ignacio and saw the devastation from the last hurricane. Luckily the Desert Inn was open. We were pleasantly surprised with their accommodations. Very clean, quiet and pet friendly. At $65.00 a night we felt this was fare for two very tired people with two little dogs. There is a heated swimming pool and a... More

Wasn't sure if the hotel would be open given all the damage in San Ignacio as a result of the major hurricane earlier in 2014 but they were open, had rooms available, swimming pool open and waiting, restaurant open, everything all good! I always stay here when in Baja. Arranged with a tour guide in the center plaza area across... More

Made a reservation at despegar.com for desert Inn San Ignacio, paid in advance. When we got there it had been CLOSED for a few weeks, devastated by hurricane Odile. Can't get a refung. DONT USE DESPEGAR.COM

Stayed one night. Nice location .. great stopping spot on the way down the Baja. Nice rooms, A/C, swimming pool, excellent resturant. Safe security parking. I liked the place a great deal. Only issue no WiFi in the rooms but available in the lobby.

I had stopped here for breakfast many times meaning to eventually stay at the hotel. The actual stay diminished my perception of the place. I ended up in a room that I think was the manager's apartment at one time, broken fixtures and kid's stickers on doors. An AC unit blew cold air into the main room, but never really... More

We recently stayed four nights at this hotel as part of a whale watching tour of Baja California. The Hotel's rooms are situated in a courtyard setting facing the small hotel pools. The location is quiet and within walking distance of the small town of San Ignacio. However, you will need a torch if walking out at night to other... More

Very expensive for what it is (US $ 100). The blind was broken and everyone could see through it at night. The bed was so bad that I couldn't sleep. What they call a swimming pool is just big enough to take a foot bath. Very very disappointing.

This is a Fonatur hotel, owned by the Mexican government. Very spacious, reliably clean and has all the basics... pool, bar, restaurant, open 24 hours. Since they only have any appreciable business during whale watching season, and it is owned by the government and cannot fail, the level of hospitality is as you might expect. Staff is very friendly and... More
