We stayed for one night in June and found the Hotel to be in a very peaceful location with lovely views out of our bedroom window of "Le Breche de Roland" (La Brèche de Roland is the name of a natural gap in the Pyrenees). Very clean well equipped room with a very comfy bed. We had a lovely meal... More

The rooms are large and modern. The toilet and shower are separated, which reduces queuing. Dinner main specialty is "civet" a delicious lamb stewed in red wine with cloves and other spices which I enjoyed but could not identify. The trout also looked good. The bread was country style, much fresher than an industrial baguette. Breakfast selection is very generous.... More

This was our first visit and we had a wonderful time. Odile and Philippe are so welcoming and the food was excellent and the wine too! The view from the dining room is spectacular and the hotel is in the perfect place for walking in the Pyrenees as not far from Gavarnie. Our room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet... More

We returned to this charming hotel with friends. Once again the owners/staff were welcoming. The rooms are beautifully appointed, clean and well maintained. We had demi pension and could chose from 5 different starters, mains and desserts each night. The breakfasts are good and varied. Even when the hotel is full the service is efficient and the breakfast buffet is... More

Fantastic find in the Pyrenees, enjoyed our stay so much, can't wait to be going back this year. Nothing to fault about this hotel and restaurant with wonderful hosts. Food, comfort, scenery, perfect place to stay!

I manage a small boutique hotel on the coast of Virginia in the United States, and I used to travel a lot for work and pleasure. Over the decades, a few lodgings stand out in memory as extraordinary, and this inn is one of them for me. The setting is stunning, the restaurant marvelous, but the hosts, Odile and Philippe,... We stayed here for one night as part of our Pyrenean walking holiday. La Breche de Roland is a family run establishment which prides itself on customer care and attention to customer requirements. Our room was exceptionally clean, well appointed with a comfortable bed, a good sized bathroom with an ample and powerful shower. Our evening meal was well prepared... More

Really pleased we chose this hotel! Gedre itself is very small with just a few shops and a few restaurants, Breche de Rolande is by far the best place to stay and eat in the surrounding area. The owners run the place very well and are very friendly and helpful in recommending activities/walks. Some have said the rooms are a... More

We were very surprised to eat an amazing dinner at the hotel's restaurant (too bad it was fully booked so they didn't have a room for us). We came in with our 2 kids who were also served with children-friendly dinner. If you're spending the night in the Gavarnie area, I highly recommend!
