What a great little place, Debbie is so friendly and the cats were lovely! My room was overlooking the castle and to wake up early and sit with a cuppa watching the ducks and the sun on the castle at the window was so calming. Debbie is a great hostess and we got on so well. I spent the weekend recharging my depleted batteries with walking round the castle grounds, coffee in the great little castle cafe and generally relaxing. Sunday lunch at the Old Boote pub was superb but when asked for a meal after 6 was told no food after 6, even on a Sunday! Stay here if you want a different type of accomadation to bland, boring mass produced hotels and have a homely, warm welcome . Went home so relaxed and calm!!

i booked purely on Location, i believed i was booking into the Castle opposite. only google street view pointed my error out, huge great free car park available next to the BB, and the building is a small cottage building, not the castle picture, Now your being invited and welcomed to stay in someones home and business,it is not a travelodge or premier inn, it is a very old building run by a lady, if your expecting 2021 disabled rights or health safety standards forget modern Britannia, your entering a very old building hundreds of years old, i am 6 ft 4 and fat, i hit every door frame and bumped around every room, i enjoyed my stay more than i thought possible, its quaint quirky , its a happy building , the host is the host , i can only say thank you for your hospitality and allowing us to stay in a great Bed and breakfast,, keep up the good work your a great host

my wife and i stayed at the wonderful Fitzwarine House for a couple of nights . on arrival we received a warm welcome from the landlady and the room was very clean and well appointed with a view of the castle over the road. Breakfast was served to your room or you could have it outside in the garden . Parking was right next to the property and was reserved for guests . Would love to stay again if in the area .

I booked a room for my mother at Fitzwarine House Whittington (booking.com) for a nice little countryside get away. While showing my mother to her room the owner wondered out loud which room to put my mother in, and then stated that because she was due to have a party of 2 arriving and my mother was alone, she would put her in room 2 (a smaller room). She then took my mother into a room that was completely different from the one shown when I made the booking. The room I booked included a sofa, fireplace, a view of the castle, and was considerably bigger than the one she was put in (all of these features were included in the description of the room). My mother called me to inform me of what had happened and told me that she felt extremely claustrophobic and uncomfortable inside the room she has been placed in; although she said she would try and stay in the room to avoid any issues or confrontation. I decided to call the hotel to have her put in the room that I booked and was met with an extremely rude response. The owner made no attempt to hide her annoyance, and quite rudely stated that I booked a double room and so she could put my mother in any double room she wanted to, and not necessarily the one that was pictured when I made my purchase. While completing my booking I booked the last available room on the site, which stated the room included a sofa, fireplace, and flatscreen tv. The room my mother was put in did not include a fireplace or sofa and so that is not the case! The owner then continued to tell me that if I were to book a room at Premiere Inn, I wouldn’t necessarily get a room identical to the one featured on the site, so I cannot complain that my mother has been put into another room. I found this ridiculous as Premier Inn rooms are usually identical, so when booking a double room, you can be assured you will get something similar to what is shown on the site, even if the layout is different. I also found it funny comparing her hotel to the likes of Premier Inn, as I’m sure they would never talk to their customers in such a rude and unprofessional manner. I asked her very politely to put my mother into the room that I booked, and after some resistance, she finally agreed. Shortly after, I received a video call from my mother who was quite clearly very upset. She stated that the hotel owner had shouted at her and rushed her out of the room. I then heard the hotel owner shout “will you hurry up then!”. My mother is disabled and cannot move very fast as she is prone to falling, so I found this extremely disgraceful and upsetting! Finally, my mother was then moved into the room that I originally booked for her, but she felt her trip was ruined as she then suffered with a headache after the hotel owner shouted at her. The owner continued to have a horrible attitude towards my mother throughout the rest of my mother’s stay. I would never recommend this establishment and have informed friends that live in/around the area, and they have said they will warn people to stay away from this horrible place. I suggest the owner take a course on how to deliver effective customer service, decorum, and professionalism!

Ideal location and our room had a lovely view. Everything was immaculately clean and there are reserved parking spaces in the pub car park next door to the property. The host was very helpful and accommodating and always available if required.

What a find a lovely place and almost felt like we were sleeping in the castle as it was opposite our room.We were lucky that the weather was kind to us and there was plenty to do around the area. Debbie gave us plenty of recommendations. The local chippy and shop are 5 minutes walk away and there are 2 pubs in the village. The double room was larger than i expected the bed was very comfy and breakfast in a bag went down very well.Bacon bap, cereal bars, yoghurt, porridge, fresh fruit and fruit juice. We look forward to staying again

We stayed overnight after a local wedding booking at short notice. Lovely BnB in a great location. The lady who runs the place was extremely friendly and made me and my wife feel very welcome. We stayed during COVID and she had put into place the appropriate measures. Nice comfy beds and a good nights sleep. We would definitely recommend.

Stayed here in August. Very welcoming and comfortable stay. Due to covid regulations Debbie had an excellent system for breakfast. We ordered our choice the night before and then it was delivered to our bedroom the next morning with a welcoming knock at the door and placed ready for us to pick up. The room was very clean and a lovely comfortable bed. Bathroom was spacious with a lovely shower. Our room looked out onto the castle and moat with its swans and ducks. Outside the front door Debbie sells duck food for feeding them. A very pretty outlook indeed. We wanted a nice chilled night away from home and that is exactly what we got. There are 2 pubs within yards of the B&B which both did food and were also very hospitable. Can definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again. We also felt very comfortable here too with regard to the current covid19 regulations. There was antibacterial hand cleansers and on each floor there were wipes and sprays for use if required. We were visiting Chirk and Pontcysyllte aquaducts which were only about 6 miles away so the location was perfect.
