We spent two nights at this fairly basic lodge. The beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets. The bathroom had a good hot shower, but only cold tap at the basin, this didn't really matter though. The food in the restaurant was good and varied, I definitely recommend their pancakes! Each bungalow has a balcony and they look out over... More

Dear graham_hyland2 I just had a look at the other hotels you've reviewed, and I can see that you easily pay a thousand dollars or more for a night. We do obviously not compare to that. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed. To travellers with top-end expectations I recommend coming here on a day trip from Luang... More

The huts are in a beautiful location just up from the river - very well appointed rooms, although rather dark, so make sure you have a torch. Wifi only seemed to work in the dining room but that is not much of a drawback. Just minutes from the village so lots of choice for eating - breakfasts were good and... More

Riverside is, yes, on the river, 20 feet or so above it. There are a dozen or so cabins with western toilet and hot water, always and other amenities. There is an open air restaurant/sitting area. The wifi is strongest there falling off as you go toward the end cabins. The cabins and the dining area overlook the river and... More

Spacious riverside bungalows with four poster beds, hot showers, deckchairs on the balcony and right in the heart of the village. Stunning views of the river, mountains and bridge make for a very relaxing beer at sundown. Without a doubt the best place to stay in Nong Khiaw! Food in the restaurant is also good, and the breakfast buffet includes... More

It was a last minute decision to go to Nong Kiaw and we are so pleased we did. A lovely small town and a very scenic part of Laos. The Nong kiau resort was a wonderful place to stay. Our bungalow was spacious, peaceful and everything we needed. I have read some of the more negative views and just wonder... More

Fresh drink upon arrival after a couple of hours on the traditional boats on the river. Traditional bungalows with balconies alongside the river with a stunning view ! It gave us a feeling of serenity and peace. Very friendly staff. As we were heading further to Muang Kua, then coming back to Nong Kiau, we could leave our main luggage... More

We spent a wonderful six nights here in March after re-locating from another hotel in Nong Khiaw which hadn't met our expectations. From the moment we set foot in reception and were greeted by the wonderfully friendly and helpful Tata we knew we'd found a better option. The rooms are large, tastefully furnished with all the amenties you need for... More

very nice traditional rooms in wood and bamboo. Nice terrace in front of the river.very quite. Nice restaurant at the hotel. landscape is impressive specially early morning. The village is very small and has no interest but it is a nice start for walks in the mountain.

I really, really wanted to like this hotel, but unfortunately, I feel like we have to be the naysayers here. It is, almost certainly, the best hotel in a very small town. And it does have a spectacular location with fabulous views, and a nice balcony from which to enjoy the views. But that's where our enjoyment ended. The rooms... More

A lovely place to stay in a very isolated region of a developing country. A challenge to my values to travel through such a poor country but be able to enjoy near first world comfort and amenity. We stayed with a cycling group and after the oppressive heat and humidity when cycling found the Riverside a huge relief. Villa style... More
