We absolutely LOVED our five nights here. Nong Kiau is a beautiful little village in Northern Laos, and this was such a wonderful place to relax in. Our bungalow was large and comfortable, with a small but great balcony and chairs overlooking the river and the limestone formations. The owners and staff were all nice. The food at the restaurant... I stayed at the Riverside Eco Lodge in Nong Khiaw, 3 nights and I loved it. Rooms are very big, beds are super comfortable, view from the terrace on the Nam Ou River absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The FOH Manager, Tata, is very friendly and helpful and can help organise excursions. Might be expensive compared to the other local... More

The location of the riverside hotel is wonderful. However, the amazing view from the balcony was marred a little by the difficulty we had managing the loungers which were not comfortable at all. The bed was comfortable and by the time we arrived in Nong Kiau we were very used to the Laos pillows so no real problem there. Breakfast... More

Dear Jenny B Thank you for your comments. I agree that the taxis charge a bit too much, but that's beyond our control. We don't charge anything, we just help calling them when guests wants it. Walking is a great option, I think so too. You are both safer and more comfortable if you charter own transportation, rather than using... More

but the breakfast itself is very poor. This place should have 5 points. It is located on a beautifull river, and the rooms are fantastic. Great beds, marvelous hardwood floor, fridge, (very slow) kettel, hot water and its clean. But 3 things irritates me. This place is extremely expensive to the rest of the town. Also, it claims to be... More

Nong Kiau Riverside offers extemely comfortable, well appointed bungalow accommodation, with amazing views and a super friendly staff. The food at the restaurant is delicious and all made from fresh ingredients. We would recommend the cooking class. The walk to collect the herbs and greens from the nearby paddy fields provides an opportunity to visit one of the largest and... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Riverside in room 14 which has a fantastic view of the river and the hills. The bungalow is big with a good firm bed and mosquitoe net.The bathroom with shower and bucket flushed loo is functional. We did not experience any shortage of hot water. It is very nice to sit on the balcony... More

We spent two nights here. It is a very pleasant resort with about 9 or 10 bungalows. Each has a spacious balcony overlooking the Mekong River. They are clean, roomy and furnished well with a little refrigerator. Unlike many places in this area, they have electricity and hot water! The restaurant is quite nice and also overlooks the river. There... More

As has been mentioned by most reviewers of this accommodation, the bungalows on stilts that form the rooms at Nong Kiau Riverside are impressive. Each stands alone, with a marvellous view of the river – with a balcony holding easy chairs for relaxing and watching the world go by. The bungalows themselves are large. We were given #1 which is... OK, so it may not be the cheapest place in town, but that doesn't make it expensive. The bungalows are lovely, and come with all the trimmings -mini bar, writing desk, hot showers, under-bed heating, private balconies, gorgeous views, beautiful well-kept gardens. And the restaurant food is just the best in town...again, not cheap backpacker rubbish, but well worth the... More
