The hosts, Roger and Rosana Jones, made our visit to San Miguel a very special one. She is a San Miguel native, and he's originally from Massachusetts (but long ago convinced that San Miguel is his real home). Rosana took care of us when we came down with some stomach ailment: she's very knowledgeable about "alternative" healing and set us up with, among other things, herbal tea (from leaves grown in her own beautiful garden), papaya enzymes, and a long-burning jar candle to remind us we were being watched over. (We've been to Mexico before with no problems, but this time we spent a couple of days flat on our backs.)

We stayed in "La Vista," a 2-bedroom suite with one bath and a good-sized, well-stocked kitchen. There's a cozy living room and a private sitting area outside with a wonderful view of San Miguel down below.
