This place was O.K. but nothing exceptional. It is very pretty as are most of the hotels in this city. The staff was very nice and accomodating. It is a block and a half (up hill) from the main plaza. Easy walking back though. The best price we could negotiate for a suite with a king size bed was 840... More

NOTE: If you are one of the Americans who wants to come to San Miguel and make it into a little Scottsdale South, then look elsewhere. In fact, look in Scottsdale. Posadas is a wonderful place for those who are looking for a Mexican hotel in a wonderful Mexican town. The rooms are spartan, but then so is the price.... More

My husband and I stayed at Posada de las Monjas for one night, partly because of reviews we read here on Trip Advisor. We paid $600 pesos (around $55 USD) because we needed two beds. A room with one bed is less expensive. Our room had two double beds (nice, firm mattresses) with two wool blankets in addition to the... More

Considering the outrageous prices for hotels in San Miguel, this place is a find. For about $45 we got a very large room less than four blocks from the central plaza. The outside is very pretty, with lots of little patios and plants, and stone stairways to various levels -- very MC Escher. The room itself was Spartan, with a... More

I spent one night at Posada de las Monjas in November 2007. The place is a pleasant guesthouse conveniently located in San Miguel city center, providing basic but decent accomodation in a cozy atmosphere. The property is large, well modeled and well maintained, with rooms located around different patios at different levels, with the upper terrace and balconies overlooking the... More

This hotel is in a great location just a couple of blocks from San Miguel de Allende's action. The staff was friendly, the parking lot convenient and large. The room and bathroom were comfortable although a bit dated. No extra amenities but for the price, we didn't need any. The view of the city was beautiful from the terrace outside... More

Last month my husband and I booked one night at this hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't book any hotel in advance but while walking around we passed by this hotel, looked at the rooms and though that for one night it'd be OK to stay. After moving our baggage to the rooms we went out for dinner and when we came... More

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and the rooms were very clean and the beds and pillows were great. This hotel has one of the best locations in town as you are three blocks away from everything. Hot water every morning. Now for the negatives, I am in marketing and could see lots of small improvements that could... More

Great value for the money, very comfortable and roomy room. Very clean. Very close to the main plaza, and the hotel is very interesting with great views, we stayed on the top floor (no elevator) but it was very quiet. The staff was very friendly. I had forgotten a jacket in the closet and the owner was very kind to... More

My husband and I, along with two other couples, stayed three nights on our first trip to SMA. From the start, I fell in love with the charm of the old place. It's also conveniently located to the central square. Keep in mind that the rooms are clean but very basic. There is no phone, tv, blow dryer, clothes iron,... More
