The night you were our guest, we hosted the Global Party Foundation to benefit the Red Cross. While it was a truly wonderful event, and we were honored to assist such a worthy charitable cause, we are sincerely sorry that the festivities disrupted your stay. It’s an extremely rare occurrence. Most guests find our hotel to be a haven of... More

OMG. Writing this within moments of leaving so I don't forget all the flaws! Windows don't open and for many rooms are only facing the hall so curtains have to stay shut. AC very noisy. Only shower I have been in with the tap so far from you that you have to get back out of the shower to adjust.... More

Given the number of extremely positive reviews that our hotel receives, we were very surprised by these comments - especially since Hotel Matilda is consistently rated by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top hotels in Mexico. We were sincerely sorry this guest was not pleased with his stay, since our #1 goal is to assure every visitor a... More

My wife and I had drinks in the bar followed by a fabulous meal in the restaurant. The drinks were wonderful and the service spot on, the atmosphere in the bar was quite chic and the art scattered throughout the property kept us enthralled. The restaurant had amazing selection and the quality of the beef left nothing to be desired.... More

It is a lovely modern hotel, located very close to downtown San Miguel. The restaurant has an excellent Mexican menu. The SPA is marvelous. Walking distance to Main plaza in downtown. They have car parking for guests.

1) booked on Booking.com on a so called lower rate than directly at the hotel. 2) rate was 350usd and when the charge of the first night was done it went up to 450usd 3) hotel charges VAT, and 10% service charge. Still, they ask for tips after meals 4) noisy hotel, I was next to the pool and has... More

We regret that your recent stay didn’t meet your expectations. Regarding the charges, it’s true that we charge VAT – like all hotels in Mexico. When a guest has a concern with any aspect of his stay, there is much we can do to resolve the problem – when we are made aware of it. If there is a problem... More

This boutique hotel is close to everything, yet far enough away for guests to enjoy tranquility! A wonderful staff, beautiful rooms, elegant spa, and a pool with infinity edge which overflows down the wall of the restaurant! A truly remarkable design. Even if you aren't staying there, you can enjoy all the amenities with a day pass! Not to be... More

Beautiful boutique hotel, lovely large room, great location, pricey. Very attentive staff, friendly, excellent service. Food was great, loved the fresh juice combinations - healthy & tasty, I had @ breakfast. Careful not to leave anything on the floor, when it rains, window/door leaked inside in our room.

My wife and I checked in for an extended week-end at this state-of-the-art boutique hotel recently. We definitely loved the great atmosphere, impecable service, quiet areas to relax and enjoy your time, and in particular the large, comfortable room, with all the amenities. The Spa was a particular bonus! We both took great massages (at reasonable prices). Breakfast is served... More

The wonderfull guest relations staff at the Rosewood Hotel in S Miguel de Allende recommended we tried the Moxi restaurant at Hotel Matilda, which, she claimed, was one of the best in Mexico. Our expectations were, thus, very high and we made this dinner the most sigbificant of our trip. The restaurant was very pretty and very comfortable. The lighting... More

We want to thank you for visiting Moxi at Hotel Matilda on your recent visit. While we’re pleased that you enjoyed the stylish ambience and design, we’re sorry that your evening was less than perfect. In fact, Moxi has received rave reviews for cuisine and service since it opened, so your experience was quite unusual. However, we value the input... More

The Matilda is very proud of its designer-chic appearance, but for us the room experience was not great. We were given room C8, right on the patio so that whenever we opened our door there were people literally on our doorstep, sitting in chairs, drinking, chatting, playing with children and dogs - so that we never felt any privacy. The... More

At Matilda, we pride ourselves on providing not only a well-designed hotel, but also one that is comfortable and functionable. In fact, Travel + Leisure just named Hotel Matilda the best-designed boutique hotel in Mexico – an award we worked hard to deserve. That said, we also know our contemporary hotel is not for everyone. We sincerely regret that your... More
