First, let me share our impressions of Hotel Matilda. We arrived on February 9th, after a long delayed flight experience... As our Van (from Leon Airport to San Miguel), pulled up to the hotel, we felt as though we were in a dream.. A wide open welcoming entrance into another world....Beautiful subdued lighting, artwork, welcoming drinks...A world away from the... More

I was renting a house in San Miguel and looking for a great place to have a spa day. The Spa at Matilda was amazing. From the water wall fountain at the entry to the warm and cozy lounge (complete with fireplace) Matilda was just the place I was looking for. The boutique size made for a quiet and relaxing... More

We owned a home in San Miguel for 10 years so we know the wonderful town well and have had many meals at Matilda (always a delight) and have enjoyed the spa often (definitely a not to be missed experience.) but we have never stayed overnight at Matilda - until this trip. We came in on a rainy night, which... More

It is not the typical San Miguel style hotel but definitely worth it. The rooms are great, the staff, the bar, but most of all the food - it is exceptional since it is of one of the most renowned Mexican chefs, and recognized internationally as well. The spa is fabulous as well.

Hotel Matilda is a boutique hotel at a walking distance from San Miguel de Allende's main square and church. surrounded by narrow streets and small shops and restaurants it is a good choice when visiting this beautiful town. As you discovered, our hotel’s excellent location and attentive service make it very popular with travelers seeking an upscale boutique hotel in tune with their own sophisticated lifestyles. Moxi restaurant is essential to this experience, and I can assure you that Enrique Olvera, one of Mexico’s most highly acclaimed chefs, is in charge. Like all successful chefs, Enrique divides his... I was recently at the hotel for a wedding in San Miguel. It is a relatively small hotel with clean rooms and a tasty restaurant. Although the service is slow compared to other cities in Mexico, its not that bad as to hinder the experience. They also have a great SPA. The full-body massage was very relaxing. Finally, staff is... More
