We stayed at the Rancho Hotel el Atascadero on the outskirts of town to avoid having to drive inside the city with its narrow streets. It was a beautiful retreat with gorgeous gardens, a pool, tennis courts and a restaurant on site. They even had free Wi-Fi (which worked about half the time we were there). The only negatives were... I wasnt sure about this hotel because it was only rated as a 3 star one, but it was the only one available so we took it. And for my surprise it was so nice and clean ! It is not a walking distance to the center of San Miguel but cabs are cheap, and if you are driving you... More

Well, The hotel ramains in The same conditions, the rooms are clean and traditional, the pool is located at outside of the hotel so is not warn the water unless you go in high seasons. I recomend this hotel.

Firstly, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large and pleasant aesthetically. Aside from minor issues (no three-prong outlets), the stay was perfectly satisfactory until the final morning. When we left for the airport around 6:30AM, there was no one at the front desk who was qualified to process the credit card machine, but they told us they'd do... More

A little far from the downtown, the rooms were okay, not great, it was very cold at night but there is a chimney in each room, it helped a little. The service was good. It was pretty quite , not much people, even it was Christmas holiday!

This is a beautiful property, a short 15 minute walk downhill and a $3 cab back from downtown. (There's a shuttle theoretically, which never seemed to be available). Super lush manicured hacienda in the hills, great views, relaxing, etc. The property is otherwise horribly dated. Services aren't explained in either English or Spanish (ie, how does breakfast work, where is... More

Very nice hotel and good value, but our 2 night stay was spoilt when nearby fireworks woke us at 6am the day of our departure ! Apparently this is a tradition at weekends throughout May and June; the hotel says some locals have complained but there's nothing that can be done. Unfortunately as with a lot of places in Mexico... This is a delightful old place on a hill above town. The room (a jr. suite) was spacious, with a nice greenbelt view. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The pool was fun for the kids. Basically, its a wonderful place for a relaxing stay. I highly recommend it if your looking for a place away from downtown. There is... More
