Posada de la Aldea it's located in the heart of the city with pretty much every highlight at walking distance which is of great help. The personnel of the hotel it's also very attentive and kind (as expected in any reputable Mexican hotel) and the courtyard looks very pretty. But all it's virtues are overshadowed by the prices of a... More

The hotel is attractive until you find out you have no towels, there is no fan in the bathroom so the mirror is useless, they don't supply a shower mat so it's pretty risky, no grab bars either, no bath mat so tile floor is very slippery, and if you only have one towel you cant very well use it... We stayed at two places here in San Miguel and we were so glad to also have stayed here. It is very convenient and across street from Instituto Allende - and easily walkable to centro. What we especially enjoyed was the more Mexican, hacienda-style ambience of this hotel. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. The bathroom was large.... More

This hotel is in a great location because we were taking silver-smithing lessons across the street at the Instituto. The rooms are large and comfortable with A/C or heating, depending on the weather. Staff is friendly. We had breakfast included with a weekend buffet breakfast also during busy season. The grounds are gorgeous. There is a restaurant for lunch and... More

I love everything about this hotel, the heated pool, comfortable rooms and beds, the wait-staff at breakfast and the location. I brought a group of 24 people and NO one had a complaint. That's really unusual.

This is a very nice hotel with beautiful grounds. Great location, of course you must walk all over San Miguel to discover it's charm. The staff are all smiling, friendly, and efficient. There is a restaurant, the food is just okay, the fruit plate is outstanding! Conveniently located across the street from Hecho in Mexico, a great place to eat.... More

First, I agree that this hotel has nicely sized rooms and is well-located, out of the downtown plaza. However, it is still undergoing construction. Previous construction efforts in our bathroom were evident -- could see plaster -- tile not finished. Further, a courtyard wedding played loud music and fireworks until after 1 a.m. The front desk assured me that a... More

Staying at this hotel really made our trip to SM de Allende a great one. We just found it by chance as we drove into town and hey presto there it was. It is a spacious place and set in a large beautiful hacienda type courtyard. It is very clean, comfortable and very rustic, we simply loved it. It is... More

Well priced and an excellent location -- easy walking distance to the Jardin and to the large cemetery which is central to Day of the Dead activities that we were traveling to photograph. The grounds are gorgeous with many quiet places to sit outside and read. Internet is spotty -- based on two trips, I can say that reception is... More

It's well priced and the location is ideal. Right between Instituto Allende and the Rosewood. And it's level ground so very easy walking around. The only reason we can not go back to this hotel is the 7am classes every morning! Screaming and pounding music at 7am. Must be some kind of aerobics class but very amplified. You can actually...
