This is one of the more difficult reviews I've written. Let's put it this way...they're doing the best with what they have and for the rates they charge, it's pretty good because San Miguel is way overpriced. (Go to Guanajuato, it's way better) Positives: 1. Views from higher rooms. Looking out over the whole city, early morning balloons floating by.... More

Stayed here 2 nights & loved it! Not fancy but very spacious rooms with mini fridge and all you need. Beds were old but they are supposed to be remodeled this month. I LOVED the view and great, big patio. Will definitely come back again. Oh, & just a 10 minute walk from downtown. ..most romantic place ever!

We booked this place because there were eight of us, it was a long weekend in Mexico, some of our parents had stayed there 30 years ago, it was available, and the price was reasonable. It is on a very busy narrow street high on a hill above town, so the views are spectacular. Because it once was Cantinflas' home,... More

The room or suite was huge and several terraces up with the balcony overlooking the city. The view is spectacular. The rooms, although clean, have no heating and since we were there in the middle of January, the evenings got cold (mid-forty) and we huddled in the sofa in the living room under blankets to watch tv on a small... this place is very charming and was the home of Cantinflas many years ago....the view is great and there are a lot of stairs so not for the physically challenged... The staff is very eager to please and the place has old Mexican charm... The price is reasonable and the location is convenient...

We went to this hotel in 2010 and had a great time - we arrived to find it very much in decline - two young kids working the desk. We came through our timeshare RCI and they didn't know who RCI was- I saw only one other couple there and it's a big place. On the weekend they had a... More

We love this place. I was surprised when out suitcases were picked by a man and a woman to be carried up the stairs to our room. I told the woman it was to heavy but she would not give it up. (And both were very heavy). The people at the deal were very helpful.. I can see why some... More

First, I must compliment much of the staff. Management is another story. The first unit assigned had no hot water. None of the units have air conditioning. The views are great but the multi flight of stairs required makes is difficult to get to your room While in San Miguel, my wife and I both got food poisoning. There was... More

The condos are spacious but deteriorated. If you expect a hotel room, you get more than that (a living room and a patio for each unit), but if you expect a condo you will be disappointed. We booked because it said it fit up to 6 people, we booked it for a week and invited friends to join us for... More

I have visited San Miguel de Allende several times within the last 13 years. One of the best places I have stayed at is La Ermita. As a single woman, of colour and of a certain age, I felt comfortable at La Ermita. I enjoyed all of my stays there. The staff is friendly and kind ...only smiles and assistance... More
