Casa de Sierra Nevada was the first of the small luxury hotels in San Miguel that retrofitted old colonial buildings to make them comfortable and modern while maintaining the feeling of tradition and old fashioned style. Our room was part of an old stable a short walk down the cobblestone street from the main lobby. Respect for the colonial architecture... More

Belmond Casa Nevada is a great hotel in a very picturesque city. From the moment you walk in the staff make you feel at home, if your home is a beautifully quaint colonial home with many people waiting on you. My room was beautiful and very clean and every morning the butler would bring our freshly brewed coffee, a service... More

Want to know what it feels like to be the most important person at a hotel? No matter who you are, a stay at the Belmond's Casa Sierra Nevada will supersede your expectations. I have traveled Europe and the Middle East, Canada and other parts of Mexico. Never, have I felt more appreciated, cared for or been accommodated as at... More

Our stay at Casa Sierra Nevada was 4 nights of fantastic times. Thank you to all the staff, specially Pablo at the door. You were fantastic and our son Ignacio appreciate everything you did for us. The hotel is just a marvel just like Salvador de Allende. R

I cannot say enough about this hotel. From the time we entered the hotel, we felt very well taken care of . Our first room in the main building was lovely , but due to loud construction next door ( not hotel related) we were finding it difficult to sleep after our red eye flight. When I told the front... We were going to stay at the Rosewood, but found this location MORE convenient. Right outside of the door to our courtyard we saw a procession of musicians, and the mystical "Mojigangas." Because it is situated so close to El Jardin (the main plaza near La parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel) you are walking distance to the nightlife activities. Good... More

A wonderful and fantastic stay at this incredible hotel in the middle of San Miguel. Sophisticated and warm with incredible service all around. Nellie Ramirez Adame and Gustavo R. stood out as the finest examples of quality.

Recently we visited San Miguel de Allende for a wedding. We picked this hotel based on previous Trip Advisor comments and were not disappointed. The downtown location is perfect for exploring. The hotel itself is spread across several city blocks, but they are all very close. We were in the primary building (reception, restaurant, bar) with the pool and business... More

i have stayed at your hotel few times, and its always been the best place to relax in a first class setting. Thank you for providing such a beautiful hotel for visitors to experience San Miguel. The hospitality, accommodations, and people are all five star, world class. The staff….everyone was professional, always smiling, and helpful, especially Ricardo Jimenez Herrera (concierge),... More

This was my second trip to SMA this year, having been enchanted by the place in my earlier visit. At that time, I stayed at the Rosewood, although it was a toss-up between that and the Sierra Nevada. This time, I tried my other option and I'm glad I did. These are two very different hotels, both of which offer... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa De Sierra Nevada is a mixture of 16th to 18th century Spanish colonial buildings, located one and one-half blocks from the cathedral and main city square of San Miguel de Allende. Its 37 rooms and suites are spread amongst six colonial mansions. Each casona, or mansion, which features five to seven guest rooms or suites, is unique. Many feature outdoor courtyards with fountains, small gardens and al fresco corridors. Guests do not have the feeling of being in a hotel at all. Rather, they are integrated into the town itself, making for a true cultural immersion. ... more   less
