We spent four nights here early January. The location to the beach doesn't get any better. You could swim in the ocean and go straight to the room for a quick shower after. There is a good restaurant on sight or many more within 5-10 minutes walking. It is a bit pricey but not in comparison to here at home,... More

I just visited the hotel this January 2015 and I had the best holidays ever! The place is neat, comfortable and charming. The kitchen is delicious. The personnel is kind and efficient. I really recommend it! The room #17 is incredible, the beach is clean and beautiful and my boyfriend and dogs were as happy as a hippo!

We revisted the El Alquimista from Dec. 9th to 16th 2014. The resort has been improved with the addition of swimming pool and spa facilities. It is still a nice and quiet place to stay. We visited the resort in 2008, 2010 and 2014. Since our first trip, new resorts had emerged, meaning there are now new players. We did... More

Came across this place by chance, having tried and failed to get dinner at the nearby La Providencia. Liked it so much we asked about rooms and were in luck. Great room, amazing view, super helpful staff, laid-back atmosphere, very good restaurant and a good yoga class too. Very highly recommended.

Stayed for three nights and had a very nice time. The hotel/restaurant staff is helpful and friendly. The pool is also nice and relaxing. The hotel is located at the most nudist part of Zipolite. Food was good and had a nice menu, but nothing too great. Drinks menu was good too. Rooms were ok and clean. Wish there was... More

I stayed in El Alquimista one week in December 2014. The hotel is located in the best part of Zipolite Beach where also nice rocks are on the sea. The bungalows are also well adapted with the landscape and constructed in a tasteful manner. I think it is probably the best located hotel and one of the most romantic hotels... More

The hotel is super open minded, the pool is amazing, the beach side lofts are super tranquil and the staff is unbelievable. We stayed for two night and it was totally fulfilling. Will return for sure.

I believe this hotel wants to be everything and at the same time it can't. It is sort of like an eco hotel with a bunch of amenities and staff. But it is not quite a resort. So I was confused. Maybe many people will this halfway point between the two. I also believe that there was too much staff... More

The setting of El Alqumista has to be the best of the hotels in Zipolite- in a slightly sheltered part on the west end of the beach, but with beautiful views back along the whole beach. There are no concrete or high buildings on this side of the beach- only palapas made of wood and thatched- so it felt more... More

The setting of El Alquimista is dreamy. I couldn't ask for a better place to get away from civilization but still have hot water & a bar :) Unfortunately we had enough problems that I would definitely not return and would give a disclaimer to anyone considering a stay there. Keep in mind that this is a very bare type... More
