We spent a week here, early November and cannot recommend this place enough. From the homemade food to order, beautiful views and well equipped cottage we were really impressed. Andy and Lorna were great hosts and waking up to sheep grazing right outside the door was a real highlight for our 2 1/2 year old. Spylaw is in a great... More

This was our first holiday with our son who was 18 months old at the time. The whole experience was lovely and Andy and Lorna helped us every step of the way. We stayed in Homildon House in early September and we could not have asked for better weather.Even before we arrived though we received a letter from Andy and... More

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Sorry we weren't here to cook for you, but even living here we do need to take a break occasionally! When we are away we are always available on the phone, and we have a local contact who can always pop in. The pirate ship is in the toy... More

Our first visit to Northumberland, Spylaw a super find, cosy, comfortable, a warm welcome and super breakfast. Easy access to the coast to the east, and the Cheviot Hills to the west, so best of both worlds. The outstanding feature was the perfect peace. We hope to return.

We arrived (2 adults, two young boys, 5 and 7), to find a private cottage, with great views, and immaculately clean. Log burning fire (with free logs), and everything up to a high standard. Scones and jam/cream arrived as we put our bags down, and juice for the boys, a very nice touch. Private walled garden leading onto a paddock... More

We had a wonderful 3 day break at Spylaw. Homildon House is well laid out, spotlessly clean, very warm and has everything you could possibly need. The bread and cream tea on arrival was a welcome bonus. The sky on the second night was incredible with so many stars. Andy and Lorna are excellent hosts and deserve all the praise... More

We were lucky to get a 3 day break as B & B guests and had excellent breakfast's each day and the best evening meal of our holiday. Lorna and Andy make the preserves and bread and much of the meat and veg is from there own organically reared animals and vegetables. It's a peaceful and pleasant place run by... More

Took a short break at Cuddy''s Croft early September 2014. Totally blown away by the standard, comfort and cleanliness of the cottage. Ditto the home comforts to welcome us on our arrival, cream tea, eggs and the warm bread delivered straight from the oven by Lorna. Lorna and Andy very friendly and helpful. Always time for a chat and for... More

Cuddy's Croft is our perfect holiday cottage. We had a wonderful week's holiday and appreciated the peace, the comfort and all the thoughtful touches. The cottage is very well equipped and everything works as it should from the wifi to the dishwasher. Lovely to come back to after a day exploring the glorious surroundings. As well as the fresh baked... More

We had fantastic week at Cuddy"s cottage in September. A very quiet location but convenient for coast and countryside. We immediately felt 'at home' even though Lorna and Andy were on holiday a cream tea and fresh bread were waiting. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard and I particularly liked the little touches of fresh flowers. .... More

Six of us stayed here 3 nights at end of August. Lovely property with fantastic views all round. Arrived to find cream tea, fresh eggs and homemade granary bread, which was still warm. Lots of games available for young and old so no reason to be bored. Property very comfortable and well-equipped. Bought lots of their lovely homemade jam as... More
