Although a longer trip from Boston (traffic), the accommodations as well as the rafting made up for it. As late planners, we were unable to secure camping space. However, we did stay right above the brewery on the back side. It was a little pricey though. We didn't have any noise issues from the brewery. Our rafting adventure was outstanding!... More

My wife and I stayed in one of the cabin tents at Northern Outdoors so we could go whitewater rafting on the Kennebec. Everything about our stay was fantastic! We loved the cozy cabin tent right by the river. The lodge and surrounding area were beautiful. The lodging staff made you feel welcome, were very attentive, and knowledgeable about the... More

This was a great way to top off the summer. We had our family of 8 - ages 13-21 and extended family equalling 20 people. The accommodations were comfortable. Could use a little updating. But if you think of it was glorified camping, you will be all set! We rented ATV's one day and rafted the next. The pub was... More

We stayed at Northern Outdoors the weekend of August 1st to 3rd for a guys weekend hoping for an exciting rafting trip with wonderful food and drink. We were not disappointed in any aspect. Rafting on the Kennebec - Our guide on the raft was Liz, who was excellent. Liz knew the river and all the currents and rapids of... More

We stopped here for 2 nights in June. The food was good, the atmosphere wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub while sipping a beer. Unfortunately, there was no IPA or Pale Ale brewed for us to try. The River Driver cabin was clean & comfortable. I had walked down to the pond at dusk & got to see some otters... More

After rafting with Northern Outdoors for two straight summers, we can say that the adventure far eclipses any theme park or sporting event for a family. You are more together with your family, the river is unpredictable, the value is exceptional, and the food is great. The guides are great at what they do. The lunch along the river is... More

We stayed in one of your log cabins, It was OK, The towels in the unit where so bad looking, I thought they where rags for cleaning. We had fun on the awesome trails, it was just beautiful back there.. The prices are a little high on drinks and food, and you need a better atmosphere in the lobby at... More

Went with my family one night in a 'cozy cabin'. For 1-2 nights, this place is great. Not amazingly clean, but much much better than rugged camping (for me!) and certainly passable for being in middle of nowhere Maine! Saturday nights will get noisy because there is usually music and partying at the base lodge area and the sound echoes... More

This was our second rafting trip with Northern Outdoors. We choose to do the Penobscot River this time around, wanting a bit more of a challenge than the Kennebec. We were not disappointed! A group of seven of us traveled up from Boston for two nights of camping and a day of rafting. We got Ted as our guide, who... More

I booked two of the 14 person huts at Northern Outdoors for a group of 28 people(6 families) for two nights and a white water rafting trip. Our kids are still talking about the trip, it was wonderful. The rafting team does a top notch trip and fantastic lunch! (we can't wait to book for next year, I think our... More
