Beautiful mountain surrounds, fresh skies, clear air to breath; supported by spacious suites, good bedding, taste food and service always on-standby. An enjoyable and recommendable experience. Do not rush, the mountains are not going anywhere quickly...

We stayed at the hotel over a weekend in March 2015. The stay was quite pleasant, but could have been so much more. Small details like the obvious lack of regular maintenance, out of stock wine, no bill upon checkout due to a broken printer, and a sub standard bathroom and towels spoilt much of the experience for us. The... More

We needed 3 rooms on a Sunday evening. Glenshiel made a plan and was able to accommodate us. Rooms were beautiful, dinner and ambiance equally superb and lovely grounds. Friends of ours had checked in earlier and a most pleasurable stay ensued. Mischa, the duty manager at the time, went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect.... More

This was our first stay in South Africa on a 21 day tour with African Sky on our way to Kruger National Park. We were jet lagged but excited to finally be here. Wonderful welcome to a beautiful peaceful location. I could have stayed for days. Huge portions for dinner which we would get used to in time.

This is a charming old farm beautifully transformed into a hotel. Placed in a wonderful setting the hotel fill you up with tranquility and delicate senses: the interior garden is wonderful, the huge tree placed in the middle of the front hotel plain filtering the sun, birds singing and butterflies and flowers and nice old furniture and the worm smell... Together with friends, we spent a night at the peaceful Glenshiel Hotel en-route to the Kruger National Park. On arrival we were met by the super efficient and friendly, Joe, who after helping with our luggage and showing us to our rooms, presented us with a fruit basket and a bottle of sparkling wine. Not being sparkling wine drinkers, we... More

On our way to the Kruger National Park we stayed for one night in the Glenshiel Hotel. The hotel is beautiful, very friendly staff, nice rooms, and splendid food for a very good price. Absolutely worth staying for a night.

Tranquil setting to get away from the hussle of the city.great views from the dining area and the room looked into the central garden.the room had a fireplace which we made great use of.The tavern inn bar was fun with the whole bar to ourselves on the night.room was slightly dated but lent itself to the Countryside grandeur of the... We did a trip on a motorcycle so when we arrived we were exhausted, we were met by Joe and Bongani, they were friendly and polite and so accommodating. We were shown to our room which was lovely and big ,with lovely fresh soft bed linen , I do however think the towels need upgrading and bigger towels would also... More

My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in this lovely spot. we booked one of the executive suites and had a lovely late afternoon glass of champagne in front of the cosy log fire. Service was excellent. Lovely little touches... petals on the dinner table, chocolate mints in the shape of a heart when we went back to... More
