Good for leisure, far from madness of modern world. If you are expecting a full of luxury hotel for a family (Indian) vacation, please think again. More of foreign tourist centric hotel and now the property need to be maintained as the maintenance part is poor.. Staff is good food is okay and not much of variety in menu. Structure... More

Pros: - big rooms - hotel is very nice, looks like it could be a historic building - on site gift shop - nice pool - good wifi Cons: - if you're here for a retreat, that is good, because there isn't anything else anywhere around (our local driver had troubles finding it) - intermittent power outages - no hot... Sometimes less is more.... a very place to stay and relax, as time stopped there... I stayed in this property inly one night and wish I could stay longer. My room was simple, classic, relaxing, big !!! and very clean. Pool was great. In very hot sunny days it's the best place to be (-: It's a place you will... More

After 7 straight days of touring and a bumpy ride in 30 degrees plus weather we reach this quiet rustic retreat and get to spend time actually enjoying the facilities. Great garden court and pool area for relaxing. Rooms are old school but clean, cool and spacious. No hot water initially but this was soon corrected with a phone call... More

Stayed as part of On-The-Go tours and what a delightful surprise to arrive here after a long and dusty coach trip from Jaipur. Apparently was an old palace, old worldy but very comfortable. The staff were extremely anxious to please and friendly. Rooms were huge and a comfortable King Size bed which was hard to get out of in the... More

This is an exceptionally large and historic palace converted into a hotel. You have to see it to believe it. When you visit the hotel in the town/village of Alsisar the surrounding area may put you off, but dont be fooled. The hotel is grand and maybe a little neglected but it is a wonderful experience to stay there. The... More

Stayed here for one night in Feb 2014 as part of an On the Go tour. Ground floor room overlooking the pool was spacious, clean and comfortable. Plumbing a little wonky and old but it all worked well enough. Staff hospitable and food more than acceptable. Its a long way out but worth a stay. Haggle with the shop prices!... More

Stayed here during magnetic fields festivals. The mashed potatoes at breakfast were divine. The Indra Vilas has a super authentic palace ambiance and the surrounding town was really interesting to get to know, though limited in things to do. Ask the gift shop guy to show you his family's miniature paintings - so gorgeous!

After a bone shaking journey and very poor roads (30kph max) we finally arrived her. The building is very beautiful and the rooms very large and well appointed. However, not everything worked. The meals were good and the grounds spacious and pleasant. A walk around the village was restful and wild peacocks were seen. I probably would not brave the... More
