Stayed here for one night in Feb 2014 as part of an On the Go tour. Ground floor room overlooking the pool was spacious, clean and comfortable. Plumbing a little wonky and old but it all worked well enough. Staff hospitable and food more than acceptable. Its a long way out but worth a stay. Haggle with the shop prices!... More

Stayed here during magnetic fields festivals. The mashed potatoes at breakfast were divine. The Indra Vilas has a super authentic palace ambiance and the surrounding town was really interesting to get to know, though limited in things to do. Ask the gift shop guy to show you his family's miniature paintings - so gorgeous!

After a bone shaking journey and very poor roads (30kph max) we finally arrived her. The building is very beautiful and the rooms very large and well appointed. However, not everything worked. The meals were good and the grounds spacious and pleasant. A walk around the village was restful and wild peacocks were seen. I probably would not brave the... More

Featuring all the original features and layout, this was a lovely traditional hotel to stay in this village. Visited as part of the On the Go tour, the hospitality was great and dinner under the stars on the balcony was good considering it was just a buffet style. A walk around the village is definitely a must to visit the... More

Arrived at the hotel after walking up a very unpromising track, wondering what to expect. What a surprise. The rooms were beautiful, dinner served under the stars on the terrace, helpful staff and good food. A walk round the village is well worth it to see the hevelis and a magical experience being able to attend a service in the... More

Unexpectedly beautiful hotel in a village full of character. The pool is perfect to cool down in after getting dusty exploring Alsisar. You really feel like royalty staying in this elegant haveli, with ornate interiors and a massive grassy courtyard, but definitely take the time to explore the smaller havelis and wander through the temple- watch out for the peacocks.

A fantastic experience. Went there with my family. Superb hospitality, awesome food, well mannered and cultured staff. It is a great weekend escape destination. Just 230Km form Gurgaon. Roads are good, directions on google map are accurate.

This hotel is unexpected and charming. A village of contrasts. Camels, donkeys, poverty, state-funded primary education and then the havelis with intricate painting, ornate decoration and calm interiors. The Indra Vilas has large, cool rooms with eccentric plumbing, all looking onto a central courtyard. The swimming pool and gardens are very well maintained. The restaurant food and service is good,... More

Indra Vilas, is no doubt one of the largest and most beautiful Havelis in Alsisar, Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan. We had heard great reviews about this place from few of our friends and office colleagues. The place is not too far from Gurgaon, about 225 kms and takes around 4 hours if you leave at a good time in the... More
