I could not fault the food at the Coach and Horses, plenty of choice and variety. The pub was very well frequented and probably would be best to book at table at the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, which was accompanied by fresh vegetables, not just peas as most chain pubs serve nowadays. I would definitely revisit if back... More

My husband and I stopped here for a meal recently and although the pub was very busy and we hadn't booked we were made welcome and accommodated. The food was pretty good and nicely presented and served with nice fresh vegetables. The staff were very friendly and we would happily return.

Very helpful staff - although fully booked managed to get us a table in the bar. Had Seafood platter - very good. Only minus side was the coffee - a cappuccino it wasn't!

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and were very impressed. It was lovely to stay in a room which has been well thought out as to what guests might need. Although fairly small, excellent use had been made of the space. The beds were comfortable, there were blankets if we needed them, plenty of hanging space and cost... More

The Landlady is very welcoming, switching on lights for those sat in the garden, providing open and sheltered places in the garden for people to eat or smoke, ensuring dogs had fresh water in the garden, making sure Germany and Brazil World Cup Game was in the public bar...whilst serving steak dinners etc in the restaurant part. She and her... More

In this world of over pretentious gastropubs, how refreshing to find a proper community pub serving fantastic value food of jolly decent quality. Rapid service and a nice buzz about the place too. A free house and a top CAMRA establishment with, I believe, a recent top "pub of the year" award. Not posh, just damn good.

Although it looks a bit tired from the outside, once inside we were pleasantly surprised as it is a very traditional pub. We were shown to our rooms immediately on arrival even though it was earlier than they normally let the rooms. All the staff were very friendly throughout our stay and both nights suggested booking us a table for... More

Went with friends for lunch. On arrival the outside looks a bit tired and does not do justice to within.nice warm welcome by staff. It was very busy but we were accomodated. There was a good selection of well priced food on the menu. The food arrived promptly and was hot and well presented. The staff were friendly and there... More

Although looking old on the outside, the inside is traditional and the bedrooms recently refurbished. Very fresh and clean room with tidy bathroom. Good `pub` food freshly cooked as was breakfast, and very keenly priced for B & B. Busy with holiday makers from local caravan sites, some returning, always a good sign.
