We stayed here Feb 2011 Room: Stayed in Beach front top floor cabanna - it had a full palapa roof and beautiful balcony with 2 hammocks - It was clean and we didn't have any problems with bugs. I felt the bathroom could use some upgrades. The tub was very old with fixtures that were falling apart ,the shower curtain... More

La Via Laktea sits high on the sand looking down over a magnificent beach. It is surrounded by palm trees and white sand. We stayed in an upper king room for 10 days. The room was spacious & well thought out, with a beautiful huge balcony c/w two hammocks. Looking out from the balcony was like looking at a postcard,... More

We recently stayed at La Via Laktea for 5 nights and had an incredible time. If you are looking for a very quiet, relaxing and amazing time, I would suggest staying in one of these cabanas. Bambu and Roberto were welcoming, non intrusive and very very helpful if you needed them to be. When we woke up each morning, and... More

Of all the options in Tulum do not choose this hotel, rooms are full with mosquitos, no breeze coming in and the Owner couple just do not care. There a lot of nicer and CHEAPER hotels in the area...dont waste your money there! More

I stayed at Via Laktea with a friend of mine in February of 2011. We lucked into this place after looking at a few other options after our arrival in Tulum. We were looking for something on the far end of the beach that would be quiet, affordable, and away from some of the busier, bigger resort-style hotels. La Via... More

What you get: - A friendly, polite, and knowledgeable hotel owner. - An immaculately clean and spacious cabana with a spacious shower area, a huge bed, a front porch with hammocks, and views of the ocean, palm trees, and blue sky. - Top quality French-press coffee every morning. (The breakfast is nice, but I prefer to vary my eating experiences... More

Truely great beachview cabana. My wife and I stayed for a week and had a wonderfull time. Top floor ocean view was perfect especially from the hammocks on the giant balcony. The owners were very helpful. Don't expect 5-star all inclusive luxury. When basics on a great location is what you are looking for this is the place to be! More

My boyfriend and I spent 10 days in Tulum and because of the busy season, no place was able to accommodate our 10 day stay in its entirety so we were forced to try just about every hotel on the beach. This was certainly a blessing in disguise as it allowed us to stay at the wonderful la via Laktea.... More

We were originally booked into the jungle room for one week but after we viewed the room, we upgraded to a lower level, beachfront. The second story, jungle room had a palapa roof and yet did not have a mosquito net over the bed. We have stayed in rooms with a palapa before but there has always been a mosquito... More
