Very nice place, we only stayed there for one night and at first we were a little unsure because of the reviews we've read here, but it was our best option since we had a reservation for the second day of our trip already. We got there on bikes we rented at another hotel, Azulik, even though one of the... More

I had the big displeasure of hearing the loud, pointless beating electronic house music blasting out of Zulum's bar EVERY day as it was positioned next to the cabana I was staying in. The whole of Tulum beach is tranquil paradise apart from the area ruined by this horrific place. I kindly asked the owner to turn it down. He... More

I really wish I had taken one look at this place and turned around, but colleague had picked it and I didn't really want to make a big deal out of it. There were a number of things that were poorly thought out, badly designed or just plain cheap. - Hanging beds - seems nice in theory, but they moved... More

Great beaches in Boca Paila but our stay was shadowed by a very unconfotable hotel, the cabañas are built in a certain way that no air or breeze can ever pass through and without AC its a living hell, be prepared to spend a sleepless night and to quarell with the managers.

This place is a plague on Tulum beach. Everyday they pump repetitive music to the annoyance of everyone around. I like electronic music but Zulum just seems to pump out rubbish Bass noise to try to get attention of people walking by. When asked to turn it down they just laugh. Tulum in general is great but don't stay at... More

We stayed on the top third floor beach cabana, complete with hanging bed, mosquito net and hammock inside with our own private bathroom. The balcony overlooked Tulums wonderful beach and had a great daybed. Zulum is right in the middle of the hotel zone, and much smaller than some of the other, bigger more commercial resorts along the strip. Breakfast... More

This place plays noisy loud band music all day and night. There is no quiet to enjoy the ocean waves. And peaceful beach which are beautiful. If you want to sleep at night don't go to Zulum . I would not recommend this hotel.

I've initially planned to stay at one of other properties around but everything was fully booked, so I end up there - a small hotel with 10-15 rooms or so. Nothing extravagant: natural aircondition (I.e. wind from the ocean), suspended bed, so better do not move too much when you sleep but beautiful view and spotless white sand and palms... More

Even though we enjoyed our stay I don't think we would return to this hotel. I've been to Tulum before back in 2000 when the accommodation options were just a few cabanas by the beach with no electricity or drinking water. Nowadays the options are endless and even though the majority of the hotels are small (from 10 to 28... More
