Zulum was an amazing hotel to stay in. We loved the suspended beds, the open shower, the beach, the restaurant, and the staff. On the hotel zone in Tulum, there are a lot of small hotels that have great websites. But the thing is usually not shown on the websites is the beach. That is because the beach is so... more

Our family of 5 stayed at Zulum for 7 nights. We got two rooms and since our 3 kids are fairly young it was important that our rooms were side by side. This put our rooms away from the beach next to the restaurant. April is a few months later than we have ever traveled to this area and it... more

I've been to Tulum three times, staying in different cabana hotels each time. This is by far the best hotel for the money that I stayed in. I particularly liked: -Beach - on the prettiest stretch of Tulum beach: wide with powdery white sand and none of the erosion plaguing the hotels towards the northern end of the beach. -Amenities... more

This was my second trip to Tulum and Zulum was the 3rd Hotel/Cabanas that I've stayed in the area. I am a single woman in my early 30's and was traveling with one of my best girlfriends who is the same age. We booked a double double as we wanted 2 beds. We were in room # 4 which consisted... more

Hi, We r a family of 4, 2 adults & 2 kids(10 & 13). Travelled a fair bit in Central America, mostly to rustic, off the beaten track places. Which is what we prefer. I did a lot of (quick) research on Tulum Beach hotels, we booked Zulum very last minute. We booked Zulum online through their website, and gave... more

Just a warning - the water that comes out your facet/shower is salt water. It was a very unique experience, I referred to it as a step above camping. I paid for an oceanview room, the view was from the top of the steps before you went inside your room, no balcony. The price was very expensive, most expensive I... more

We visited Zulum over New Year's (2008-2009)for a week. Positives: Location, beautiful beach, friendly staff. Beach: beautiful People with small children have to be cautious of the rather strong waves and currents of the ocean on this stretch of beach. Accommodation: Lighting inside the accommodation is of a very low wattage, which makes reading or finding stuff a bit trying.... more

First, the good: The staff is kind, caring, and accommodating. The food was fantastic! large enough portions that six of us ate on a four-person meal plan. The guacamole, a standard appetizer, is to die for. The steak in the fajitas is as tender as filet mignon, and I'm not a meat eater. The rooms are clean, and there is... more

We booked our room at Zulum sight unseen and after several of our top choices were sold out. We were skeptical seeing as not too many places still had rooms left on the Tulum strip and we wanted the eco-cool rustic but boutique small hotel experience that we'd been hearing about. But we browsed the website and started to get... more

I was in heaven and found my home! I have been visiting Tulum over the years but usually stayed at larger places was uncertain as to what to expect. As a women traveling alone I am weary of places that I haven’t been to before but decided to take the risk. The staff was amazing and within a day I... more
