Just when I thought I'd never by wowed again...along comes La Selva Mariposa, Lou, Moe, staff and "the girls". The accommodations surpassed anything I had dreamed of, our own little piece of paradise. The natural sound machine of the waterfalls falling from our pool lulled us right to sleep every night. Lou showed us around the premises, obviously proud like... More

Fortunately, for the first time ever, I actually clicked on a side-bar advertisment. It was for La Selva Mariposa and I fell in love with the Bed and Breakfast right away. The website offered lots of helpful information about the B&B and Lou and Moe were even more helpful. They are great in responding to guests through e-mail. We were... More

La Selva Mariposa has beautiful grounds and the hosts/owners are very nice people. However, the suites are right next to each other and the dining, should you choose to eat in, is communal. So it's not the best place for honeymooners or if you otherwise want to recede from the world for a bit.

We only had one night on our trip to stay at LSM, but it was worth it! Everything was beautiful, clean, and lovely. As mentioned in other reveiws, the attention to detail is evident everywhere, the water features are so peaceful, the food is fantastic, the service second to none. We have stayed in hotels in Cancun and Playa in... More

We have stayed at La Selva Mariposa before in Room 3 and loved it. We were visiting the Tulum area in December and stopped by to say , "hi" to Mari and Lou and met the woman who wrote the Feb 9th review. Boy, is she a handful! - What we would call a "taker". She was not pleasant to... More

First trip to Mexico for my partner and I. After extensive research we decided to stay 5 nights at LSM. We were not disappointed. Lou and Mari have created a beautiful sanctuary in a convenient location. We spent three entire days on the property, as we saw no need to go elsewhere. The birdwatching was a pleasant surprise, with approximately... More

Nothing I say here will affect the overall ratings that this B and B is getting, but I feel it is imperative to write this review, because others may have had similar experiences but not want to write them down. I see that one other person had a similar experience to mine, so I believe there are others. First of... More

*She rated us a 2 for value. We gave her a $25 a night discount for being a single that included a full breakfast. *She gave us a 3 for rooms. All our guests, including her in their reviews, agree that the rooms are beautiful. *She gave us a 1 for service. We offered her two choices: to move her... More

My husband & I stayed at La Selva Mariposa for 3 nights. We wish we could have stayed longer. This place is a true oasis only a short drive from the beaches of Tulum. It's great to go to the beach for the day but return in the evening to the sounds & smells of the jungle. Lou & Moe... More

La Selva Mariposa (The Jungle Butterfly) is a beautiful B&B nestled in the jungle about 20 minutes from Tulum pueblo (town). Our room was lovely in an understated way---no kitschy bright colors. We had a palapa roof and a shower open to the sky and our bed was extremely comfortable. There was wonderful art on the walls and many unusual... More

This elegant hidden gem was all that we had hoped it would be. Fabulous food and amazing attention to detail by our hosts of La Salva Mariposa. Our hosts generously shared their best tried and tested local tours, restaurants and beach clubs. We were able to see and participate in local offerings that we would have missed had it not... More
