my wife and me stayed 3 nights in this quiet and relaxing beautiful b&b... The rooms are clean, well decorated, incl. airco, fridge, books, maps and personnal trip advices from Lou and Moe (very usefull for belgian tourists...) , the garden is the pride of Lou and is having a collection of numerous trees which he selected with passion. Thanks for your kind words. We do try to provide everything WE can possibly think of that travelers might need, from coffee supplies in the room to beach pads. Sometimes the sound of the waterfalls is distracting for a restful sleep, but the water flow can be turned down to a trickle if you want less of the effect. Do... More

We were there for only two days and it was our best experience around Tulum, to escape those huge tourist complexes this is the best experience you can have, Lou and Moe are so nice and will guide you for the best places and things to do around their paradise. We will be back for sure because we enjoyed so... More

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in March 2012. We'd been looking forward to it our whole trip to be staying in a jungle hideaway, and it was certainly worth the wait. I appreciate attention to detail, and Mari and Lou bowled us over with all the efforts they'd gone to, to make their guests feel at... More

Thanks , we certainly hope that all our guests walk away from LSM with the same feeling you had. When we have a break in our schedule, we take time to travel in the peninsula so that we can pass on first-hand information to our guests. We are always looking for ways to make LSM even more amazing than it... More

If there weren't so many things to do in the area, we would have gladly spent the entirety of our stay swimming in our private cenote and sleeping in the most beautiful accommodations we experienced on our trip. Upon our arrival, Lou made us feel at home with a tour of the grounds and our casita. The laid-back demeanor of... More

We were very touched with the detailed review you took the time to share with future travelers. Yes, 2 nights is not enough to enjoy your accommodations at LSM AND the surrounding Mayan ruins, cenotes, colonial city, and beaches, not to mention treasure hunting along the Coba Road. You are more than welcome to return and yes, bring some friends... More

This place is great, located near tulum, you can rest there, take a good a relaxing time. It is also a good place to go to the beach around Tulum, and enjoy the carabean coast, as well a visiting the beautiful Mayan ruins that are everywhere in yucatan. Moe and Lou take a great attention to details, and we appreciated... More

This place was very nice, quiet and off the beaten path which we wanted. The hubby and I like to go for walks in the evening, and this wasn't the best neighborhood to go for a scenic evening stroll. The owners made a nice breakfast for us. There are tons of mosquitos in this area, so come prepared (true of... More

It has been almost a year since your visit to LSM last July. Are you sure you are thinking of the right B&B? 1. Summer is the rainy season, so some mosquitoes are to be expected. There are less in the jungle than the beach where they breed in the mangroves. We offer repellant to all rooms and Mayan Clay... More

For those of us who honor and treasure beauty, La Selva Mariposa in the Tulum-Coba area of the Yucatan Peninsula is a treasure! For those who are looking for a jungle hideway with all the comforts and luxuries of home, this small, intimate bed and breakfast provides and exceeds all expectations. And, for those who think only beach, this alternative... More

Thanks for the glowing review. Yes we have worked with passion, creativity and love to create this little nature paradise. Each day we marvel that we ACTUALLY live HERE. We are proud of the relationships that we have formed with our Mayan neighbors. This translates to our guests by the security they feel staying at LSM, surrounded by a culture... More

We stayed at LSM from 24/02 to 01/03/2012. It was the most beautiful hotel that we had ever stay! Rooms are clean, well decorated, the open air shower is a good idea, and the breakfast was very very good (fresh muffins, fresh fruits, every morning an excellent meal homemade by Moe or Lou)! Moe and Lou are great hosts, very... More

We have had many visitors from France this season and we truly appreciate the effort it takes to write a review in a second language. When we write or speak in Spanish, even after living here for 8 years, it is a bit of a challenge, so for that we thank you very much. Mil gracias. You were delightful, adventurous... More

Moe and Lou make you feel very welcome and will help your stress disappear with a B&B that has quiet garden paths, flowing water in a waterfall and founains, comfortable cabanas and tasty breakfasts . La Selva Mariposa is a labor of love for owners Moe and Lou. Plantings and water features abound throughout the property. The cabanas are beautifully decorated and contained many thoughtful items for us to use during our stay, including an umbrella and a flashlight. Thanks for the detailed review. We are always trying to make things better for ourselves and our guests at LSM. We agree that a palapa roof makes a room dark, but it is typical of the area and we like to have our rooms reflect a variety of building styles. We added the 11 lights for accent and when we... More
