What an amazing place! We stayed for two nights in April but immediately wished it had been longer. Lou and Moe couldn't have been more helpful and really made us feel welcome. The gardens are beautiful and our room (suite 3) was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and there is a great place to eat just over the road, really... More

La Selva Mariposa hits the mark on every level. We fell in love with the property the second we were escorted in by Lou. We stayed in suite # 3 and enjoyed five nights of relaxation in the jungle with our days full of beaching, exploring the ruins, and swimming in Cenotes. It was exactly the break we needed. Stay... It's almost difficult to know where to start, but as with all great places it's the personal touches that make La Selva Mariposa stand out from the crowd. From the delicious breakfasts - no two days the same, keeping us full till the afternoon; to the detailed homemade guides to local attractions; to the individually designed rooms, with quirky Mayan... Thanks so much for the thoughtful review. We know how much you had to do when you returned after the trip abroad, and were so touched that you took the time to write a review when you were barely settled back in. Gracias! Thanks for mentioning the personal attention that Lou and I offered to you and your partner. It... More

Brilliant boutique B&B (If I'm allowed to call it that). This place doesn't need another review on account of the ones before us. But it is rare we feel a hotel meets our high expectations after reading the TA reviews but this did just that. Our hosts were delightful and entertaining. The breakfast was different and freshly cooked every morning... More

Thanks so much for the charming review, but you are mistaken. We do need more reviews and we truly appreciate your candid observations about LSM and your stay with us. You were busy travelers, but knew when to take a break and that is where we came into the picture. We were glad to be that oasis waiting for you...and... More

Our family of three stayed at Mariposa on a whim to experience something other than an all-inclusive. We've been to Quintana Roo many times and have always stayed at all-inclusives and they have their perks but our time at Mariposa was very special. It is a beautiful property that the owner Lou built himself--including the enclosure wall that looks like... More

Thanks for taking the time to write this glowing review. We love it when guests notice things like the ruin like walls and structures we built to look like they magically emerged from the jungle. It is one of Lou's many talents. It is sometimes difficult to leave the comfort of the all -inclusives you had become used to, and... More

Superb ! Just fantastic! It was a very nice experience right from the warm welcome of the freshly baked chocolate brownies till the end. Even though it was in the jungle,it was awesome! In fact it was very quiet unlike the buzz of the Zona Hotelaria surrounding. From the architecture point of view, all the rooms had a unique design,... More

Thanks for being the designated review person. Your family was delightful and very interesting. We loved sharing our little oasis with you and I personally love it when guests are as enamored with plants as I am. Thanks for the review and letting travelers know that if you venture away from the busy coastal area, you may just find the... More

Just returned from a relaxing, enjoyable 7-day stay at La Selva Mariposa within the friendly Mayan pueblito, Macario Gomez. We prefer the unpretentious Mayan jungle setting 15 minutes from the more crowded beach resorts in Tulum, and the ambiance created through interaction with well-travelled, interesting guests who share a desire for more off-the-beaten-track experiences. With years in the food/restaurant business... More

Thanks so much for your beautifully written review. We loved the title and know it will attract many future travelers to our little oasis in the Mayan jungle. We are pleased you mentioned that we are in an unpretentious little pueblo and we hope that our guests have chosen us partly for this reason. The little family Mx. restaurants that... More

We split our time between the Tulum beachfront and the Mayan jungle! Our first days were spent staying at a $200 a night ecological resort on the Tulum beach. We explored Sian Kaan biosphere and the Tulum beach clubs and restaurants while staying in southern Tulum. The need to stay on the beach and stay reasonable on the lodging cost... More

Hello from Mexico and thank you so much for your review of LSM and your stay with us. We are so pleased that you appreciated each and every detail of our little oasis and the fact that we are located in between the beach and the Mayan ruins, cenotes etc. in the interior. Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at La Selva Mariposa. This was my first trip to Mexico and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Moe and Lou have created a beautiful spot to unwind filled with abundant plants, waterfalls, walking paths, pools, outdoor showers, amazing breakfasts. I felt truly welcome and taken care of. Moe... Hello, I knew you were starting to feel like we do when guests stay only 2 nights: just not long enough to get to know us or the property. But this feeling may just bring you back to see us in the near future. Thanks for the review and I love how you described our attention to detail as insane...this... More

We had a much too short stay of only two nights at LSM, but it was everything we were hoping for and more. The pictures that you see definitely do not do it justice. The entire property is SO BEAUTIFUL and serene. Everywhere you turn, there is something new to see that you didn't notice before. The attention to detail... More

Hi, Thanks for your lovely review. It is never the same when one of us is away and you don't get to meet the entire Moe and Lou team at La Selva Mariposa. I am glad our staff and I were able to provide a positive experience for you during your stay. It was so much fun to have you... More
