We recently stayed a the ParaYso Hotel on the beach in Tulum and it was quite nice. There were a couple of challenges when we first checked in as the staff doesn't speak much English, but Avelina and Carlos were both so nice and wanted to please, it was fine. After we got settled in there were a few pleasent... more

We stayed there for one evening in late May, 2009. The main downside is the AC did not work as promised. We paid a walk up rate of about $60 USD for the price was hard to beat. The pool is nice. Not much for ammenities and the construction seemed to want to be better than it was. We did... more

Two friends and I have spent the weekend at Parayso Hotel, the service was excellent, the room was clean & comfortable ¡and at three steps from the white sand!. We previously knew that the electricity is only available at night, this is because this area of Tulum was declared totally ecological by the local laws. So it wasn't a problem... more

Just returned from what was to be a four-night stay at this hotel. We left after the first night! I so wish that I had read the reviews of this place on Trip Advisor. I would have known not to be so stupid as to belive that when the site descriptions that say that the place has air conditioning, that... more

I traveled to Tulum for the wedding of a friend with a large group, we had most of this hotel occupied with 20-30 year old couples. Amongst our group there was a wide range of reactions from abject spoiled-American horror at the less-than ritzy conditions to blissful acceptance of the gorgeous surroundings. I read many of the reviews here (after... more

We arrived at the hotel just before midnight after a long days journey which involved driving our rental car from Cancun to Tulum. We were greeted by the hotel security guard that patrols the grounds at night who woke up a staff member to check us in. Our room on the second floor overlooking the ocean was very clean and... more

Friendly staff and lovely beach can't make up for serial flaws in design, construction and maintenance. There's no power during the day - and the toilet is in a windowless room. No counter space for toiletries. No mirrow for shaving. Towel bar ripped off long ago. Weak shower pressure & volume. A/C didn't work - they replaced the controller but... more

My girlfriend and I spent 5 nights at Parayso Hotel from 12/31/08 to01/04/09 and had a great time. I’ve been going down to Tulum for 20 years; it’s come a long way from the days where you could only rent an open-air palapa with a couple of hammocks inside. The area is beautiful, but also still in an ecologically sensitive... more
