We (backpackers) booked a small cabana and got #12, a big room with two kingsize beds and mosquito nets above them. A hot shower was ensuite. The sink though was inside the room. Strange but ok. Free wifi in the room was great. Table and chair were convenient. But no place to hang clothes. No a/c but a good fan.... More

This place is very rustic, a good bed with only sheets, no A/C, no TV, no frills, second floor, main building has great shower pressure and plenty hot water, can't vouch for cabanas nor would recommend the cabanas (huts, really) the top floor, main building (rooms 10 and 11) had no water pressure, so we were moved to second floor... The rooms (not in the main building) are huts with dirt floors and shotty plumbing. There is 1 electrical outlet. Power went out. That was hot. Saw lizards in the room. The beach was beautiful, the bar was cool, the vibe was chic. The staff was not unhelpful. If your looking for a cheap place to lay your head down... More

The owners are great -- Muchas gracias Pedro, Sandra y Jesus :) They were very accommodating, and polite -- gave us an extra fan and mattress. Food was great and it's right on the beach, and they even had a DJ playing music one. Gotta meet Pancho, Arturo and Francisco, the resort mascots. Some rooms are smaller than the others... More

As others have noted, our room smelled of raw sewage. The sheets and towels were stained. Staffing was one big joke. Front desk guy spent 10 minutes telling us that we had a reservation at some other Parayso, but eventually conceded when I showed him the confirmation from expedia. Just gross, would give it zero stars if I could.

We love this hotel! Everyone who works here was extremely friendly & helpful (especially Eufemia the proprietor of the taqueria outside our room). The room was spotless & functional. Although there was no air conditioning we could open the two huge French doors & sleep under the mosquito net. When the power went out in the middle of the night,... More

Need I say more? Room (#11) was clean, the sheets were not. The bathroom smelled of sewage and by morning so did the whole room. Cold trickle of water from the sink, and I didn't go near the seemingly toxic shower. We left and had no hope of being able to deal with reception which was only allegedly open from... More

Tulum is a wonderful place to be, but not in Parayso Hotel! There were cockroaches, rosty sinks and the water of the shower hardly came out and when it did it hurt. Filthy and not clean room. The swimming pool is not inviting you at all to swim, milky stuff was swimming. Towels very old, with stain marks... The view... More

Unfortunately everything was sold out and even bad reviews I tried my luck! And my luck was not with me... Cockroaches by the sink, the water of the shower was hurting, noisy, filthy and cheap! The only positive: I needed to be in town by 8AM and one of the supervisor (I guess he is) drove me to town. His... More

after what felt like an eternity of travelling, my boyfriend and i were very excited to end our holidays with a lovely beach vacation. unfortunately this place was a disaster from the start. we were told the check-in was at 1pm, we arrived around 1:45pm tired and desperately in need of a shower... we were told our room wasnt ready...
