I will keep my review to the point. We never stayed here. It could be great or awful, we will never know. Instead we booked in February, were sent a confirmation and paid our deposit for a room that looked wonderful. 6 weeks later we were told that the room was double booked and all they had left was a... I had so looked forward to this special place, but ultimately, it started our vacation on a downer. Positives: lovely setting; interesting architecture. Negatives: the architect should have considered pragmatics like places to hang or rest toiletry kits. Or a steep ladder from upper floor bedroom to bathroom. Maybe ok for people who don't have to get up in the... More

We LOVED: the charm, character, quality, presence right on the beach, quiet, many lovely touches. We saw 3 different rooms, which were all quite different. You're really living in a sculpture. It's also noteworthy that the manager was lovely -- professional, helpful, likable. The steps up to the top of a boulder, with 3 lounges up there, won my heart.... More

Great little boutique hotel. Tulum is a great spot and this place is a great part of it, right downtown, coffee shops, great restaurants, and margaritas steps away! Staff was very accommodating, friendly, and went out of their way to help. It's not a Marriott, but those are a dime a dozen. Posada del Sol has culture. Everyone was so... More

It was the first place we stayed at the first time we went to Tulum and every time we go they make room for us. We often don't even make a reservation. It gets booked up though so lock up at least one room online before you go! The service is excellent! They have breakfast included and they make the... More

The strip of beachside property along the Tulum ruins coastline is dotted -- littered?? -- with small boutique hotels, stores and restaurants. Most are quite expensive, and many don't offer electricity at night. We chose Posada del Sol because of the 24-hour availability of electricity and the non-beachfront rooms that are half the price of the beachfront rooms (and just... More

I've been to a lot of eco-chic boutiques in Tulum, and this one was much better than most. However, they charge you for that quite a bit more. Almost all the cabanas in the $75-200 range offer the same amenities and feel....concrete rooms, windows with no screens, ceiling fan, and rustic bathroom. Where Posada del Sol is different is in... We stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing! Beautiful beach, clean rooms and nice staff. Really near to nice restaurants and bars. We been given beach towels and water every day on the request. The beach is peaceful , full of sun beds and there is a restaurant next door , which we used to get beers and... More

The room was beachfront, beautiful, expensive & absolutely not worth the price! It is on solar power so there is no air conditioning, you cannot use anything other than a fan or charge your phone. There is one outlet, so charging multiple devices is impossible. Even with the fan, it was hot, humid & extremely sticky. No wi fi except... More
