We’ve stayed several days at Luna Maya in November 2008. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is not looking for top-notch, Cancun-style, plush accommodation. After all, who needs plush if you’re just a few feet away from the beach? Luna Maya has all advantages of a small, family-run hotel – great service, privacy, clean rooms, secluded beach, etc.... more

This quaint, charming hotel was nothing short of paradise. The beach was small and beautiful, the perfect place to spend a lazy morning or swing on a hammock while the sky grows dark. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, especially Daisy. The waitstaff in the restaurant were also friendly and were very patient while I tried to use my... more

We just came back from our one week trip to Tulum staying at this nice, secluded hotel along the Boca Paila strip of hotels. A short distance away from the pueblo (downtown) and the Tulum Ruins, this small hotel is highly recommended for travellers who want a little privacy, and yet still be near to where all the actions are!... more

This past May I realized the dream of taking my class of 21 eighth graders to Tulum, Mexico. Our one-week stay was a great success thanks, in no small measure, to the openness and generosity of our hosts at Luna Maya, who responded to our every request with a smile and prompt service. This cozy hotel on a secluded cove... more

The luna maya was an ok hotel, we felt that we could have gotten a much better price if we had booked it when we went there as opposed to booking it online. The private beach was fantastic with huge waves and soft sand the hammock area was nice. Our rooms were ok, but sometimes we didnt have any power and we... more

Just a little "beware" note on having your wedding at Luna Maya. We'd stayed there last winter for a couple of nights and had a wonderful time. It's small, quaint, clean with good food and a nice little semi-private beach. We decided to have our small wedding there because of all those reasons. Fabiola (wedding organizer for their hotel) was... more

We booked our stay in the "suite" based on some positive reviews and the hotel website. The website is somewhat misleading. Although you do get a lovely ocean breeze, you must sacrifice what little privacy you do have in order to get it. I was under the impression that the "suite" had an ocean view. Well, there is a sliver... more

Dear sir: We're truly sorry that you had an experience at Luna Maya that didn't live up to your expectations. We certainly appreciate feedback from our guests, and continuously try to remedy anything at Luna Maya that is not up to our standards. Your experience was certainly different than that of most of our guests! Sincerely, Giselle Alves

Luna Maya is a nice place with a very nice beach that doesn't get a lot of traffic from people walking through - so it's very peaceful and quiet. I will say that I was a little disappointed when I saw our room as the pictures on the website made it look much nicer and bigger than it actually is.... more

Where do I begin...? I did so much research before choosing Luna Maya, and even though I found VERY little info on the place on the web, I still chose it. I enjoyed every minute as did our family and was able to check out just about every room on the property. They were simple but stylish, very clean, and... more
