We didn't stay here but came a couple of times for the atmosphere, beach and food. The food wasn't as interesting as some of the places in Tulum, but we loved the terraced seating and great view. We had a really lovely time here. What's not to love in Tulum for the most part. We did look at the rooms... More

This place is great. The location, awesome views, beach, bar and restaurant with reasonable prices (compared to some other places in Tulum), chill vibe with great music and most especially the very warm and welcoming staff. We had a problem with the airconditioning in our room on the first night, which was resolved in a great manner. If you can,... More

My girlfriend and I spent six nights at Papaya Playa Project (PPP) this May. It was the beginning of the "off" season for Tulum, but the weather was perfect-- and I mean 80 and sunny every. day. Just a heads up about this time of year-- the beaches are crawling with seaweed. PPP employs people to rake & bury the... More

We had a big group of people staying at Papaya Playa. Rooms offered different features and experiences were from bad to worse. The good thing are the beds, linens and the rustic atmosphere throughout the hotel. Followed by how local lower ranked staff were nice. Amenities such as wifi (restricted to lobby and bar - and the bar had it... More

My daughter (13) and I visited this hotel in March, just at then end of March break. I had previously visited Tulum for a day here in there, to enjoy the beach and vibe but this was the first overnighter. Here is what I liked and didn't like about this property. Liked: Of course, the beach is fabulous and the... More

We had originally booked to stay for 7 nights here but after reading the reviews I cancelled as much as I could, leaving us in a New Casita for 4 nights. The room itself was nice, right on the beach, with quite a cool outside bath/tub on a small balcony upstairs. I have no complaints about the room, but for... More

Mattresses that are moldy, rooms that are so warm they're impossible to sleep in, even with the "air conditioning" running. Rude wait staff, terrible food. And my favorite, the endless bait and switch tactics of the management. Sell you on something for x, charge for x times 2 or 3 and then make you wait for 3 hours in the... More

this overpriced fake jungle place is probably for rich trustafarians who want to pretend a simple life. But it smells like sewage and it's hot and uncomfortable. I'm not usually one to complain. Stay anywhere else!!!

I have to admit, that this hotel was not our first choice. We really wanted to stay at Coqui-Coqui but they were fully booked. However, as I was perusing for other hotels and came across this, I was really drawn to the way the casitas looked. Despite the mixed reviews I have read, I went ahead and book the NEW... More

The Hotel is very cool but has a clear lack of atention to detail and should improve the level of service. Staff did not smile and care about you. The room was nice and basic, but honestly and despite we knew it iwas and Eco meet with nature place we were expecting much more for a Design Hotel. The beach... More
