While I didn't stay at Coqui Coqui, I went to purchase a candle from the hotel. Upon my return to the US, I discovered that they had given me the perfume instead of the candle. Annoying, but it seems that it is an easy fix. I emailed the hotel to make an exchange. No response. I emailed a second time,... More

We are reviewing the Valladolid property which is a one bedroom room situated above the Coqui Coqui Perfumery in Valladolid. This was such a great find and really special place to spend our anniversary. You are on your own - but have all the luxuries of a hotel... but private service (but not intrusive at all!). The breakfast was really... More

I spent a full week at this beautiful little gem on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. The stunning location is right between the white sandy beach at the front and the jungle in the back. The sunrise views from the terrace are magical, plus it is walking distance from some of the best alfresco restaurants and bars in the area.... More

My wife and I road bikes to the infamous perfume shop only to be greeted with a scowl and an unhelpful sales clerk. Needless to say we did not purchase a thing simply due to the staff. The owners must be quite wealthy considering they are likely losing money hand over foot where a simple hola would increase profitability.

Well, if you've been to Tulum you know its all about beautiful beaches sustainable hotels and yoga. Coqui Coqui is very romantic and beautiful but short on amenities and service. There is a small restaurant that makes great drinks and a simple brunch but thats about it. For what we were looking for it was perfect but but not your... More

I really wanted to love this hotel. It had been recommended by the excellent Mr & Mrs Smith and looked fabulous however in Tulum in August having no air conditioning was a joke. Worse than that was the fact the romantically draped mosquito net stopped a foot from the ceiling so not exactly functional! I can safely say i had... More

Like so many hip places featured in "hot lists", Coqui Coqui definitely isn't worth its amaaaaaaazing reviews. It's a below average so-called eco-chic hotel, which means you have a couple stylish antique furniture pieces and local crafts in your room, but none of the appliances you'd expect at this pricepoint - AC, mini-fridge, hair dryer... Just a bed, mosquito nest... More

I've stayed at Coqui Coqui twice now and it really is the most beautiful spot in Tulum. There are bigger hotels that offer more "amenities", for certain, but Coqui Coqui is really about a supremely chic spot, where beautiful people come to enjoy the Caribbean. And, not really care about being overly attended to. And, frankly, Tulum is really all... More

This hotel is gem!!! It is a small boutique hotel full of great details. First, they are into making perfums and fragrances which adds an aura of great smells and essences through your stay. The architecture of the place is also very unique and quite lovely...very simple masonry and wood construction combined with a very good taste in furniture and... More
