We had an outstanding time. The building is wonderfully designed--it's rustic and elegant at the same time. You can see the ocean from most of the rooms. Juan and Martha are friendly and very helpful, and their daughter Sophie is a gem. They showed us all how to make ceviche and we all gathered to a delicious feast of it.... more

We came to Tulum without reservations, which allowed us to check out many of the hotels since availability was scarce. We ditched Ocho Tulum after one night (see my review). Jade is funky and rough around the edges, but at least it has character. Unlike most of the places where you take the beach to your room, Jade is traversed... more

My partner and I spent 10 days at Jade in January 2009. We a wanted a quiet, unpretentious, rustic place where we could roll out of bed and onto a beach chair with a book. We got it. The beach at Jade is beautiful and relatively uncrowded, and Martha and Juan (the owners) contribute to a laid back, friendly place.... more

Jade is great – it’s a wonderful space to stay and chill out. We had a great room (No 3, fire) – a lovely big bed, a shower with enough hot water for us, and a fantastic private balcony with a hammock. We could watch the sun rise every morning over the Caribbean without even moving from the bed. Chile... more

This is the most amazing place ever. Beautiful views, lovely tree houses, and a very chilled out feeling. Room was very clean, the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice a huge plate of fruit and toast. This place is off the beaten track a bit but if you want a relaxing holiday then go. Hope... more

We loved the primitive dream. We weren’t put off by some of the previous reviews because we’re regular visitors to Tulum and are used to people like those previous negative reviewers who really should stick to Cancun, Playa del Carmen or the all-inclusive stretch and leave the treasures of Tulum for those of us who appreciate the more authentic natural... more

My husband and I were so upset with CESiak that we left after 2 nights and drove around looking for somewhere else. We used trip advisor, but the highly rated places were booked or really expensive. We just found Jade by luck, drove in and met the super friendly owners Juan and Marta. They showed us the most romantic room... more

We found this place by accident and thank whichever deity guided us to it. We were immediately made to feel very welcome by our hosts and always enjoyed our chats with them, leaning lots of useful information about where to visit and what happens during a hurricane! We wanted peace and quiet to enjoy the sound of the sea, the... more

first off, if you want a resorty, all inclusive hotel...then jade isn't for you. but, if you appreciate natural beauty, rustic glamour, and do not want to be waited on every minute, then jade is a must! i knew from reading the rave reviews from fellow new yorkers (especially brooklyn where we live!) that i would love jade as much... more

After 3 wonderful days on Holbox island we arrived at the Jade Hotel. As there was no one there and the hotel seemed abandoned we drove back out of the property hoping to find a place that looked like what we have seen on the internet... It must have been a charming hotel once - but it seems that since... more
