Milamores was recommended to my husband and I by our hosts at La Selva Mariposa in Marcario Gomez as an excellent place to use a beach club in Tulum. We stayed 7 nights in the jungle, but wanted to spend some time at the beach during the day, so we decided to try Milamores. Formerly Casa Magna, it is under... more

I did not stay here on my recent trip to Tulum, but I did walk past the place every day on the beach for 6 days. This place, consisting of 2 large villas (one the former Casa Magna) is on a beautiful stretch of beach near the biosphere. As such, one would expect a certain sensitivity to neighboring properties and... more

Amazing *New* ownership. So I read all the reviews of Mil Amores and I recently stayed there for about 2 weeks (actually got married on the beach there). I will put photos and more in shortly, but I felt compelled to post a note quickly. Mil Amores used to be called Casa Magna. It was initially built by the famous... more

Mil Amores was kind enough to host my wedding reception. Pamela and her boyfriend Alberto have been managing Mil Amores since 12/27/08, so please consider this when reading any reviews before 2009. Pamela and her staff bent over backwards to make sure all of our guests were happy, that the environement was romantic, and that you felt at home. They... more

PLEASE BEWARE! This was the worst run hotel i have ever been to. The owner Melissa was non existent. If you want to go somewhere beautiful but has no power, water, ice, snacks, clean sheets, hot showers, and peace this is your place. There was no staff in my opinion and NOTHING ever got done. I am so exhausted from... more

Just pretty awful all around. The only thing good about it was it was in a more remote section of Tulum. The staff and owner were just plain creepy people. more

To begin with I requested a quiet room which they suggested a room and it turned out to be right next to the lobby. I expressed my concern about the possible noise to which I was told that it is a very quiet room. This was the first outright lie that I was told. Some of the other problems included:... more

I co-led a yoga and creativity retreat to Casa Magna in 2007 and again in 2008. We took 29 women for 6 days. I am writing to let people know how much improved the service and overall experience was. Melissa, the owner, was available and responsive throughout the week for helping us to deliver the kind of experience we envisioned... more

The trip was fantastic. The food was great and the side trips of kayaking, biking and beach walking were quite relaxing. Most of all the food was excellent. more
