Tulum itself is great but next time we will definitely be staying elsewhere. We stayed at Hemingway for New Year's and the week following. We were charged an obscene amount of money (inflated holiday price) for very basic accommodation and provisions. By 'eco' they mean 'run-down.' Despite having paid a very large deposit, on arrival we were forced to pay... More

I've been going to the Hemingway for a couple of years now. As Tulum grows in popularity, the Hemingway remains a little oasis of tranquility. Your own Cabana either on the beach or in the jungle (I prefer the jungle as more privacy and less hot). A fantastic Italian chef and what is without doubt the BEST breakfast coffee I've... More

This is a magical place to stay, the staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was gorgeous with a good shower, the mosquito nets around the bed helped us sleep well and the lovely breakfast included in your room cost was very filling and delicious. It was a shame that there is currently a seaweed issue affecting the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights at the start of our Mexican road trip. The room was lovely! Enormous bed, great big shower and storage space. The food was amazing! Breakfast perked me right up everyday. The Mexican coffee is a must. We ate dinner there one night and had the most amazing seafood pasta. Plenty for... More

Very nice place, breakfast very good, beach beds are very relax. Is just 5 minutes from tulum. Very good place to stay and be first at tulum ruins. Mattress was not good, one of the worst bed i ever had, shower was ok too. Very good place, just make sure you get good bed

Surprised, because when I come to Hemingway loved the room cabins, the restaurant, everything was very cute, when I wanted to do some other activity, I realized yoga and meditation every days, all this was great because it helped me forget my problems, then at the spa I met Tashi Pasang which is a specialist in Ayurveda and I decided... Very disappointing. It's a beautiful place but let down by a number of factors including but not limited to: No electricity during the day. Completely useless excuses for fans in the bedrooms. No mosquito nets (just curtains around the beds that block the air as well as insects), and besides ours had a hole in it. And there is a... More

My husband and I have been to Hemingway on two separate occasions. And I cannot wait to go back. If I could afford to go twice a year I would. If you are looking for 5 star accommodations this is not your place. If you are looking for someone to wait on you hand and foot this is not your... More

Tulum may not be the hidden gem it was 20 years ago, but Hemingway gives one a taste. If you're not into a simple thatch roof bungalow with a fan and mosquito net and no nasty a/c, then go to your stinking all inclusive resort. But if you want simple restful beauty without being insulated from the environment to which... More

They mixed up the dates - our room was already booked. The hotel staff is rude and absolutely unprofessional. Salty water in room showers. The large part of beach cabanas are located either very close to each other or near the road (with some heavy trafic) - very few cabanas will get you privacy one would expect from so called... More
