First, let's talk about what Cabanas Tulum is: the cheapest place (by far!) on one of the most stunning stretches of beach I've ever visited. We took many beach walks and looked at some of the other places we had considered staying, places that were hundreds more dollars per night than CT is... and our $70/night (we went the week... more

The Cabanas Tulum is AWESOME. If your looking for TV's, Nice rooms, and upscale ammenities, go pay $300 to stay at any of the other beach front locations. If you want a quiet, beautiful stretch of beach to call your own and just need the room to sleep and shower in, the Cabanas Tulum is your place! The patios outside... more

I thought this place would be a good choice for my friend and I who were attending a wedding. The wedding party was only 2 doors down at La Luna (go there instead, it was fantastic!!!!) and the price seemed good and the pictures looked cute. We were sent links of information and I downloaded and printed them. We were... more

The perfect getaway...That is if you enjoy the perfect beaches where the sand doesn't get hot, the water is clear, waking to the sunrise in your cabana on the beach, falling asleep to the sound of the waves... No tv here (except in the bar), no internet, no radio - a real tropical getaway. Tulum was rated the 2nd best... more

cabanas tulum is a rare vacation spot. Nothing fancy and not much happening but that's exactly what we love about it. Rooms are clean and basic, beds are comfortable and there's enough time with electricity to make it an adventure. The location is unbelievable with about two steps from your front door to the white powdery sand of the beach.... more

We stayed here from Dec 22 to Dec 27. We loved it. Carlos was so sweet. When I made the reservation in June, I was a little anxious because it was an email from Carlos telling me "dont' worry your reservation is secure". Well, our room was waiting and Carlos greeted me by name! This part of Tulum has the... more

I just read a review that stated CT was trashed by the hurricane. Not true. There are a few buldings on the end of the property that got hit, but where we were at was perfect. Beautiful palms, soft sand, stunning blue/green of the sea. The rooms were basic, but we had bright murals painted on our walls. The patio... more

I agree with all the reviews...great place for the price but very recently it was hit by a wave that trashed some buildings and they have not yet recovered too well. I was there also 3 years ago and the place is much more run down now. Needs paint and upkeep. The palms have also been trashed by the storm.... more

the cabanas, tulum while not the marriot was certainly not a flop by a bus station. we knew we were in a top demand tourist area and to find a place for only $60 a night that didn't offend or scare us was a godsend. i give the hotel higher marks more for what it wasn't: dirty, noisy, crowded, distacting... more
