I spent two nights at the Cabanas Tulum in an oceanfront “bungalow” that suited my needs very nicely. The accommodations are, as others have noted, quite basic, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water during the hours when electricity was on. The curtains might show some signs of wear and tear,... more

We also booked through Juan Ojeda - very simple and quick response. Cabanas Tulum is great value for the location - it's on a stunning stretch of beach and the front rooms are directly on the beach. We had two queen sized beds in our room and plenty of space, with our own porch with two sets of hammock hooks... more

If you're looking for luxury cabañas in Tulum, this is not the place for you! But if you just want a place to crash at night with the beach right outside the door, then Cabañas Tulum is perfect. The rooms are basic but very clean with nice painted flowers on the walls. It looks like they're doing them up as... more

When I booked I was visualizing a long stretch of deserted beach with about 5 little hotels. It is a 4 mile stretch of 30+ little hotels but still amazing and worth a visit. Booked through Yukatantravel.com which was very responsive. The staff were friendly and nice to my kids. We could always get a cold beer or access to... more

I booked online through yucatantravel (Juan Ojeda), who is a booking agent. When we arrived at the cabanas, our room was ready. The view is amazing right away - coconut trees swaying in the wind, white sand, quiet beach, beautiful clear water. The cabana (we had a beachfront one, 2 beds) was basic, but spacious. Relatively clean, private shower, high... more

Great Value. There are $250-300 rooms next door. With Cabanas Tulum you get the basics for a good price. But the beach is flat five stars! Rated by MSNBC in a recent article as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. The indication of what others think is the number of international travelers we ran into that were... more

First, let's talk about what Cabanas Tulum is: the cheapest place (by far!) on one of the most stunning stretches of beach I've ever visited. We took many beach walks and looked at some of the other places we had considered staying, places that were hundreds more dollars per night than CT is... and our $70/night (we went the week... more

The Cabanas Tulum is AWESOME. If your looking for TV's, Nice rooms, and upscale ammenities, go pay $300 to stay at any of the other beach front locations. If you want a quiet, beautiful stretch of beach to call your own and just need the room to sleep and shower in, the Cabanas Tulum is your place! The patios outside... more

I thought this place would be a good choice for my friend and I who were attending a wedding. The wedding party was only 2 doors down at La Luna (go there instead, it was fantastic!!!!) and the price seemed good and the pictures looked cute. We were sent links of information and I downloaded and printed them. We were... more
