This hotel is set in pleasant gardens and is very convenient for the Tulum ruins and transport to the town. We did not find it particularly noisy but we were staying at a quiet time of year. It has a good bar/restaurant with friendly, helpful staff but those are the only things to recommend it. We had paid a deposit... more
If your into smelling diesel fumes all nite and you do not mind the extreme drinking owner breathing on you and lax service along with stains on your clean sheets{brought my ultravilet light} then you are home. Next time I'll sleep on the beach befor I'll sleep there. more
I've just stayed here for 2 weeks and I can't wait to go back! It's noisy (next to the main road) so bring earplugs, but it'd be hard to find a friendlier or cleaner place. The beach is 20 minutes (pleasant) walk away, and El Crucero is handy for everything else. The colectivos and main buses stop right outside, and... more
I found El Crucero to be adequate. It's considerably cheaper than many other places to stay in Tulum, and so for the money, I found the place decent. However, I was not as in love with it as some of the other reviews I've read. The bathroom was by no means clean, the room was simple but charmless, and the... more
El Crucero are really a hotel, restaurant, shop and bus-stop close to the highway to Tulum, and on the road to the ruins. We stayed here for one night in January. We had the largest room, in the backyard. We choosed one of the rooms away from the road, to avoid some noise. But, we didtn't had to bother about... more
We were quite happy with the hotel, staff, restaurant, location, bike rental, etc. The curse is the niteclub across the highway, at least on the weekend when we were there. What may be the world's worst house band consisted of drums, bass, (not Kreuder & Dorfmeitster) and a vocalist whose range covered perhaps 4 notes and a dozen words. What... more
This is a nice place, with good staff, decent rooms and a relaxed garden. But one major problem - its right by the main carretera that runs from PdeC to Tulum and if you are in one of the rooms close to it you will not be sleeping well. I arrived there after 20 hours of travel to be plonked... more
It was a fun place to stay. I enjoyed relaxing outdoors in the hammocks and I enjoyed the bar and restaurant and James' nightly live music. The restaurant was a bit expensive but they gave generous portions which more than made up for the price. The first night I had the single room for $30. It was well equiped with... more
There are a lot of nice things about this hotel that a lot of people would like. Especially the ambiance and the outdoor bar and restaurant, where you can meet the owners who are really nice people that are happy to help you in whatever way they can. The downside to this place is the location. If you don't have a... more
