We stayed at Don Diego for 5 nights in April, and it was beautiful. Really handy for town and good for excursions, about 5-10 minute walk from the bus station. The hotel is not in the beach but the taxi ride down to the beach cost about £3, so not a deal breaker for us! Our room was lovely, peaceful... More

Great to get back from the beach and be surrounded by the green gardens and pool. The rooms are a good size with separate shower/wc and doors on to a terrace with hammock and chair, surrounded by lush greenery. Airco works well and is needed as inland is noticeably hotter than at the sea. Lots of mosquitos on the terrace... More

We spent 2 nights here, it's a little oasis when you enter, with a clean pool and meal/seating area in the huge "tenth" that you see in the title picture. At night the walkway is illumated so you are easily guided to your bugalow. The bungalow (number 1) was basic, spacious, had 2 hammack's (one inside, one outside) and 2... More

We stayed here as the last stop on a trip around Quintana Roo / Yucatan and both a greed that this place was our favourite. Charles had been extremely helpful in arranging a tour round Sian Ka'an for us for the day after we arrived and we found all of the staff incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. This... Worst Internet and wifi I've experienced during four months travel in Mexico. Internet was down in rooms for several days so only available in dinning room, which was rather slow. Staff not very helpful, especially during breakfast. Breakfast was ok when staff got order correct. Restaurant only open for three hours at night, not open for lunch. Nice menu, but... More

We stayed here only one night to be close to the Cancun Airport at the end of a week driving in rural Yucatan. It was quite a shock to enter resortland after our quiet week but Don Diego was a perfect little quiet garden oasis in the midst of the very busy coast. The hotel is beautifully put together with... It is important to know that this place is very far from from the beach, the center of town and the main restaurants. Be ready to do a lot of walking or spend more money on a taxi. Add to that the loud music. There is a bar on the other side the of street that continuously play loud cheesy... More

Stayed here for one night on Exodus's La Ruta Maya tour. The hotel consists of little bungalows and a block of rooms arranged around gardens and a pool. Our room was upstairs in the block and had a little sun room with hammock off the main bedroom. Dinner there was very good thanks to the French owners, particularly the coffee-crusted... More

The hotel is just south of Tulum in a large walled garden area. We booked a bungalow and half board. The dinner was very good as was the breakfast. The best part was learning about the native Mayan Melapona bees which are stingerless. The owner is very involved with the local Mayan community in bringing back these endangered bees which... More

Overall a nice place, an oasis on the edge of Tulum town. Has an excellent restaurant for dinner at very reasonable prices. The main downside is that the owner is a chain smoker and many of the guests are also French and smokers. If they made an effort to contain the smoking the review would improve.

If you agree, I would like to ask Tripadvisor to remove this review, as I feel that it is a very personal opinion. In every public places you will find the same debate : pro and cons of smokers. In all our rooms, it's prohibited to smoke. In the public areas of the hotel - all are outdoors - I... More
