This is a nice, quiet little haven in Tulum. It has a beautiful lush garden, our room had a private little deck looking over part of the garden, the pool is great, nice to have a dip in at the end of the day if you head back to the hotel. Tulum is FANTASTIC! Go to the ruins, go to... More

We were told you had a choice to either stay in town, or near the beach in Tulum. Beachside accomodation tended to be fancy hotels, or little shacks with no power... so we stayed in town. The place itself was nice, very low key vibe, and staff eager to please. The rooms were exactly what we needed, with a little... More

The hotel is a small one with a pleasant garden atmosphere, and located one block from the main highway. One of the two French owners was at the front desk when we checked in. Curiously we were not asked to fill in the usual form stating name, passport number etc., although I am pretty sure this is a legal requirement... More

In Tulum essentially there's a choice between the beach and the town to stay in - we opted for this place in the town and were really pleased by what we found - rooms are well presented, have a little garden and access to a well shaded pool. The vibe is very relaxed and low key, the staff helpful and... More

Hello Mike, and thank you for your nice review. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in town. The beach in Tulum is absolutely great, but we are some good hotels in town that try to offer a nice alternative ... we think it's worth it actually :) Even though the rain does not help a lot lately,... Very comfortable place to stay. Peaceful. Beautiful room. Simple, clean. Nice décor including talavera tiles and pretty Mexican art. hammock on your private patio. AC which was great during the hot week I was in Tulum. Delicious breakfast options and desserts, including the mint chocolate mousse with strawberries, Super close to chac mool school if you'll be studying Spanish there.... More

We returned to Don Diego for the second time while traveling to Tulum to run a 10k race. The first time was so nice that it was an easy choice to look them up again. Don Diego is dog friendly and is located where it is easy to get out and exercise. Beautiful gardens and setting, it provides a relaxing... More

Stayed 3 nights in 2 rooms. Very nice quiet hotel, with a very nice pool. The hotel in located a 15 min walk outside the center of Tulum. The distance wasn't a problem for us. The hotel recommended a diveoperator LA Calypso, witch we used for diving in Cenotes. That was great.

Don Diego de la Selva was a comfortable and charming hotel. It was within walking distance of bars and restaurants and a short cab ride to the beach. The room was large and bright. Breakfast was included and the grounds, with a nice pool, are quite welcoming. In addition, the staff was helpful and courteous. I would definitely stay at... More

Don Diego de la Selva was perfect for our honeymoon in Tulum. The gardens are beautiful and create a romantic atmosphere. A bee farm produces delicious honey and artisanal soaps. The abundant breakfast includes fresh squeezed juice (a different one for each day of the week!), coffee, pastries and delicious jams, and a choice of three breakfast platters. A filling... More

This place is away from the beach so may not be ideal, but certainly feels like a little jungle oasis in Tulum. The rooms are colorfully and carefully decorated, large, and very clean. There were numerous outlets with European and USB plugs. The pool is smaller, but still very nice and well maintained. The gardens are home to an apiary... More
