We had had a very long travel day, and found respite and refuge in this hotel. The room was clean, air conditioned and comfortable. Out the glass doorway was our own little piece of jungle which felt very private and intriguing for our first taste of the tropics. The restaurant was under an enormous palapa that had just been replaced.... More

Charming hotel, quiet, a little away from the main roads and from the beach. The rooms are in a garden, very green and peaceful. The owners take special care of sustainable resources and the hotel has plants, flowers, trees, birds, hens and rare Mayan stingless bees. Our host, Charlie, was very welcoming and helpful. He gave us good advice about... More

I was with a friend a showed up with out a reservation. The desk clerk could not have been nicer. We just wanted a clean room with two beds and air conditioning and all at a reasonable price of course. The price of the room included breakfast and that was well made. I will stay here again

This little gem of a Hotelito is quite nice, the front desk staff was warm and inviting, and spent about 15 minutes providing us with insider tips for the area. Our room was upstairs #11, it was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the linens seemed new, the shower worked well, the towels were in good condition. They have a... More

Thank you Todd for your lovely review, I was not here to receive you during your first stay but I can see that Sabrina did it well while you were in room 11. And we finally met on your second stay, when you stayed in room nº2. Well you know that you have your home in Tulum now, so feel... More

Upon arrival, the ceiling fan only rotated at a very slow speed, providing no wind. They could not find any tabletop or standing fan to offer. They said a room with A/C would cost an extra USD $40 per night. When I balked, and they sensed I was going to leave, they went down to an extra USD $20 per... More

That makes 10 years that daily we have to be perfect to receive our guests in Don Diego de la Selva, we have no option, we run a hotel not a camping. That day we were not at the top, sorry and sorry again! What I can say is that yes the fan works in the bungalow, and yes the... More

We enjoyed our stay at Don Diego de la Selva. We had a beautiful room with an outdoor patio. The shower and sink are decorated in talavera, and the A/C works great, which is hard to find in Mexico! Breakfast is included, which makes the price of this hotel a steal. There is a beautiful pool, and the hotel has... More

We spent a week here in April. We had a very nice, large, clean room with a wonderful patio. The air and fan were needed, as it was hot in April. The breakfast is really good, the dinners are really good, too. The location can't be beat--a very short walk to inexpensive and good restaurants in Tulum. The staff was... More

We spent a week here recently. Enjoyed the ambiance and the owners. Food was good. Loved eating breakfast in the "palapa" outdoor dining room. I wish there had been complimentary coffee available in the afternoon and evenings.

My partner and I spent 2 nights here and would happily have stayed longer. The trade-off for the tranquility is the trek to the town centre (about 1km), but taxis are cheap and abundant, though. Our room was one of the air-conditioned suites, very nice and spacious with quiet A/C and hot water aplenty. Breakfast was good, the dinner excellent... More
