My partner and I spent 2 nights here and would happily have stayed longer. The trade-off for the tranquility is the trek to the town centre (about 1km), but taxis are cheap and abundant, though. Our room was one of the air-conditioned suites, very nice and spacious with quiet A/C and hot water aplenty. Breakfast was good, the dinner excellent... More

We stayed in a garden room at gorgeous Don Diego this March. The ADO bus terminal is about a 15 minute walk, which was a bit far with bags as the sidewalk from town ends and requires walking in the shoulder of the road, but very easy for future excursions once we had settled in. Also note that the road... More

We had an absolutely wonderful Stay at Don Diego de la Selva! This is a little oasis in Tulum Pueblo: quiet and serene. It is steps away from the main drag, yet has the feel like you are a bit off of the beaten path. The staff/owners are warm, inviting and had have very good suggestions for centoes expeditions. The... We booked on trip advisor and hotel was priced $173. We showed up and noticed the sign on the entrance that states 900 pesos ($60) for air conditioned room. The owner, when asked about the huge discrepancy in rates, tried to give a lame excuse about high and low seasons. We were tired and sucked it up and stayed the... More

Stayed @ Don Diego de las Selva for 3 nights, en route from Belize to Isla Mujeres. Pool, room, bathroom, dining areas all clean. Staff either good or very good. Full breakfast included in the price. The property was quiet except for birdsong... lovely. You can get drinks by the pool, which is great for such a small place. Loved... More

Love Don Diego! We only stayed 1 short night as we passed through Tulum. Loved it. It's quiet, clean, and friendly. Great restraunt with wonderful food. The ceviche and guacamole was freshly made and wonderful. Pretty little pool as the backdrop for your dining. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. And a great breakfast in the morning. We look... More

Wonderful hotel. Excellent friendly, attentive staff. Well designed with seating areas around the pool and by the small bar/reception. Our room was large with a huge bed, a typical local design and great air con which was really needed. The patio over looked the gardens and beehives. We had a great hammock, lovely to relax in and watch the bird... More

Overall: Very special oasis in Tulum. Wonderfully maintained and lovely grounds and appointed rooms. Food: Very good food & breakfast is included. Diner is fantastic with a different special every night...very delicious. Cabana/ Palapa: Spacious room with traditional Mayan thatch roof, nice washroom & shower. Thatch roof is great in theory, BUT you are inside the city. Be prepared for... More
