My husband Shawn and I stayed at the resort from April 30th, 2008 through May 7th, 2008, and we absolutely LOVED it and would like to return again next year for our 1 year ceremonial anniversary. We have been married in the states since 7/17/07, but did not have an official ceremony because it was my dream to get married... more

My wife and I went to EDR May 1 - May 11 for a delayed honeymoon and anniversary all rolled into one. Our desire was to be at a luxurious, romantic, and restful place and that we certainly found. I did a lot of research on TA and elsewhere so I knew what to expect. EDR is a wonderful place... more

I went to the El Dorado with my boyfriend in October 2007. It was such a romantic vacation. Upon arrival we had to wait for our room so we decided to walk around, the landscaping is just gorgeous. We vacationed at the El Dorado Royale because friends of ours were getting married there. The wedding was wonderful, but the resort itself was not impressive. Issues arose from the moment we walked into the lobby at approximately noon. Check in: Our room was not ready therefore we were provided a beeper which was to go off when our room... more

We stayed at El Dorado the first week in May 2008. It was our second trip to Mexico (first was to Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta). We enjoyed the eastern coast beach much more than the western coast. El Dorado is HUGE! Luckily, you can wait for a golf cart to tote you around if you don't like to walk.... more
