My wife and I visited Tulum for the first time a couple weeks ago for 3 nights and stayed in one of the Master Suites. I have read reviewer comments about privacy and understand their comments regarding the ocean view rooms. With the Master Suites you get all the privacy you could ever want. I can't comment on value for... more

We stayed at Mezzanine as part of our honeymoon in March 2008. The hotel is conveniently located close by to the Tulum ruins which is great. We did find that the hotel is expensive for what is offered. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. They have the best bed we have ever slept in!!!!! The restaurant is good but... more

Overall, I'd definitely recommend the hotel, with a few caveats. Let's start with the positives: The staff of this hotel was absolutely wonderful. Alex, Oyuki and Mario can always be found in the office or restaurant and will help you with a smile. Alex in particular has a good sense of the restaurants in the area and activities to do,... more

Don't believe any of the reviews you have read! This place is way bettter! Located on the beach, the Mezzanine is a super chic and modern boutique hotel. It managed to make these 40 year olds feel cool and hip. My wife says it's the best hotel we have ever stayed in and I have to agree with her. We... more

My husband found this idyllic spot while web surfing one day. This property is hip and amazing. It has 9 rooms with 3 different types. We stayed 4 nights in the middle option for $285/night, but I believe the others are either $173 and $500. Our room was a beautiful, clean room bathed in light and kissed by wind --... more

My wife and I stayed at Mezzanine for 5 days last week. We were looking for a quiet place to unwind without phones or TV, but we didn’t want to camp on the beach either. Mezzanine provided the perfect fit for our needs. We booked late (just a few weeks before our stay) so the only rooms available were in... more

Pros: Beautiful beach and scenery. Rooms chic and comfortable. Fabulous shower. Crowd-free and unique. Restaurant is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. (Alex the manager speaks very good English and will bend over backwards to help you.) Fast, thorough, discrete maid service. Short taxi ride from Tulum. Two-for-one margaritas in the afternoon. (My favorite was the raspberry with... more

Tulum is one of those place that WOW you. This was an incredible experience and the hotel had added much to it. Kattrtina and Alex (Manager) were excellent hosts and they manage the hotel very well. Everything is clean and they are very accomodating. They even had bikes that they let us take out for free! This was the second... more

Having come from a larger hotel in Playa Del Carmen, Tulum was a breathe of fresh air! Mezzanine was the boutique hotel we had been looking for with stunning views and beautiful rooms. Our first night we could not get an ocean view room so were given a room in the back (which some called the dungeons!). I was a... more

I was very taken with Mezzanine--the reviews online were great and the photos (both candid and by the hotel) were lovely. And it's true: the location is beautiful and the hotel is well-kept and somewhat chic. To be sure, the restaurant is not to be missed, and you should definitely make a point of having lunch or dinner on the... more
