Just returned from Tulum and must say that it seems La Vita e Bella is a bit past its' prime. When we arrived we were greeted by the group of huddled employees and felt that we were intruding. We had read some reviews on Trip Advisor and had earlier requested (via email) a specific room. We were told that they... more

After visiting the ruins in Tulum we took a taxi to this place to have lunch on the beach. I read about this place through Fodor's book. We could have gone anywhere, but chose this place. Big Disappointment! They do not have an alcohol license so we could not have a beer or margarita with lunch. The place was soooo... more

The vast majority of over 20,000 hotel guests and over 100,000 restaurant patrons have found the food of exceptional quality. We have 46 hotel guests or restaurant patrons who have posted reviews online. We try to make everyone happy at our restaurant and hotel. The vast majority of the time we succeed. Still, we will continue to try and make...

I stayed at Bella for seven nights in May. We had previously stayed at Hemmingway romantic cabanas which was quite perfect and Diego de Selva in Tulum town which was also great. Bella has lovely cabanas all pastel colours on the most stunning beach although not quite as amazing as Hemmingway and we were still pining for Hemmingway. It is... more

La Vita e Bella Hotel is listed as one of the 10 best in the Riviera Maya by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine. Still, we know that we cannot please everyone. This review is particularly puzzling. The reviewer gives the hotel 4 stars and calls it “Stunning”, yet, says many negative things that do not relate to the hotel. Then she...

I was checking out places to stay in Tulum. I arrived at La Vita e Bella. I thought, what a beautiful place. I asked to see a room. I was lead around to the front of the complex, than taken far to the back to see other rooms. It seemed odd that it was taking so long and along the... more

To say that this person’s account of what occurred is inaccurate is being kind. First, and foremost La Vita e Bella Hotel owners, Gino Ambruoso and Silvia Di Fazio, take very seriously any claims of theft on the property. They are honest people who run a very successful small beach hotel in Tulum. They do not tolerate mischievous activity by...

I found La vita e bella by accident. It was my second visit to the Riviera Maya - the first had been just one month before (!!) with my family and we stayed at one of those all-inclusive oh-so-expensive resorts. This time I was a bit more adventurous and decided to pick my hotel in situ. To be honest, I... more

I can't tell you if this is a great place to stay because after putting down FULL payment for the deposit and receiving our confirmation number saying we had a beachfront bungalow, I found out we didn't have the room agreed upon. If you plan to stay here, even if they send you a confirmation, E-MAIL THEM TO CONFIRM AGAIN... more

We were torn between several places in Tulum. We knew we wanted to spend 3 nights/4 days. Question was whether to stay in Zamas, Mezzanine, La Vita e Bella, or Dreams. We ruled out Dreams becauase we simply didn't want to spend that much money considering we'd not be in the hotel to really enjoy it. We were deciding between... more

Preferring less developed oceanfront, our Yucatan trips have moved progressively south. We ended up at La Vita e Bella for the Christmas Holiday, and for our tastes, it was ideal - laid back, beautiful beach, comfortable cabana lodging, and kind and considerate service. Highlights included a delightful two bedroom unit (we traveled with our 8 year old) with a partial... more

We stumbled on Vita e bela as we were just looking for a restaurant in Tulum after visiting the ruins. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, the rustic feel and the European athmosphere. The pizza was great and so was the sopa de lima. The pasta was average. The beach in front of the restaurant is breathtaking. The water is just... more

My husband and I, along with our 9-year-old twins, were staying in Playa del Carmen. We enjoyed the touristy beaches and Avenida 5 but were ready to slow down a little. We made our way down to the ruins at Tulum thinking we'd return to Playa del Carmen that night. After visiting the ruins we decided to walk down the... more
