A friend and I stayed at El Punto for a couple of nights in both the private room and ladies dorm. Excellent place to stay. Carlos the host was a lovely host, very flexible letting us use the facilities well after check out hours. The free bike rentals are a good bonus if you can brave the heat! Perfect location,... More

This was a nice, clean, safe hostel. Staff helped with any requests we had. Beds in dorms had mosquito nets- necessary because of the thatched roof! Decor was nice. Looked very traditional. Only flaw with this place- although i don't know if it was the fault of the hostel- was that it was very quiet, with not many other guests.... More

El Punto is an awesome place to tour Tulum it is in a great location right next to the supermarket and easy cycling distances to the beaches and the Tulum ruins. Bikes are free too which is a plus. The only con is the quantity of Mosquitos because of a small pond at the entrance to the lobby. Overall I... More

My partner and I stayed at El Punto for about a week in a private room and absolutely loved it! The rooms were very clean and modern and they provided nice towels (which is actually pretty rare at most hotels around Tulum). The staff were all very nice and accommodating. They also provide free bikes that you can take around... More

Not located so close to the beach, but there are bikes for free if you want to ride them to the beach. I stayed in a private room which was great. Good shower, comfortable beds, fans and air-conditioning.

We had six beds in the female dorm. It was alright but one shower is simlpy not enough for eight beds and the lockers wouldnt have been enough either if we hadnt shared. Fortunately there were mosquito nets for every bed. The owner was not unfriendly, but he wasnt friendly or warm either. The location is quite good though.

My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights in the girls dorm and couldn't be happier with our experience. The dudes who run this place are super chill and play great music. The place is clean, there are places to lock up your valuables, the kitchen is a great touch (for penny pinchers) the beds are comfortable, and Manuella... More

First off, the gentlemen - Julio and Carlos- who manage the establishment are ultra laid-back and cool. El Punto is located very near (.5 km) to the main highway in Tulum, about 1km from the center of town and about 2 km from the nearest public beach. If you want the luxury resort, right-on-the-beach experience, look elsewhere and prepare to... More

I intended to spend 1 night here, and was a little nervous to do so as hadn't stayed in a backpackers since my early 20s (I'm 30) - I landed up staying for 3 nights and would have stayed longer (but had to move to next spot) and loved every minute. The place was a little far from the beach... More

I stayed here for two nights. The room was simple, but spacious and comfortable. I thought it was slightly overpriced for the room, $63/night (including tax). That included breakfast (toast and coffee), A/C, and free bikes. I would have stayed in the hostel part if I was alone, it was a good price when you include the free bike. The... More
