I love Mayan Tulum for it's set up, spa, and yoga classes. But, I didn't know they had a problem with cockroaches. Cockroaches in Mexico bite and when they do, most often one needs medical attention. When I told the management I had killed 5 cockroaches already, they responded that they would fumigate once I left. For the price I... more

I just joined TA, but wanted to comment on my visit back in Nov 2006. The property was great for me..staff was attentive to me(maybe the restaurant wasn't"proactive" but as long as you waved them down, they're there to get you want you want - as for me the guac/chips were to die for), including the massage staff - which... more

I just returned from Maya Tulum. It is amazing. Maya Tulum is a yoga, spa retreat. It's amazing how quiet it can be. I stayed for seven nights. My mom and I did the MBS program. We stayed in cabana #1. You want to stay in cabana 1, 2, 3, 6, 35, or 36.. Villas A and E are great.... more

We have been visited Tulum before and we always loved the value and mellow euro-vibe at Maya Tulum. In the past few years this place has become very popular and sometimes overrun with large groups (mostly North Americans). They have crammed more cabanas (be aware that there are a couple new "rooms" that are not individual cabanas but apartment -like... more

If you should decide to stay at maya tulum wellness spa Bring galloons of bug sray - you may have 1/2 a chance of not getting eaten to death, even with the cheapo misquito nets! (a tan is not the only thing you will come home w/ WELTS!) spaces in between the roof and the casita - plus spaces around... more

The worst of the hotel? I can't pick just one. Unorganized, scattered, management. The buffet food was below average. The menu options limited. In addition, the coffee was so weak it looked like dirty rain water, the "fruit juice" served at every meal was so watered down it was mostly water. I am not exaggerating. The maid service: The maids... more

Totally burnt-out at work and suffering some MINOR emotional trauma ("recent ex-boyfriend gets 21 yr old college student pregnant", story at 10...), I desperately searched online for the next flight out of town. A cheap $350 ticket landed me in Cancun, with only 4 bathsuits, a sarong and a toothbrush in tow. Having made a quick phonecall to the US-based... more

I don't know what can be better than your own cabana ONE step from the beach! Clean, quiet, romantic cabana facing the Carribean. Food was fantastic & service was great. We had multiple massages during our five night stay. The MBS package was worth it because of the food, free shuttle service, one massage included, and day trip included. Alcohol... more

I have been to Tulum many times and stayed at a number of places. Let me say first, I don't think there are bed bugs. A friend of mine had a similar reaction to sand flies in Holbox island. Some people are prone. Second, this is not a place to come if you are looking for a swim up bar,... more

By the end of my stay, I really enjoyed Maya Tulum, but there are some definite things you should know in advance of your trip which will make it much better: 1. DO NOT get room 37, which is the worst room on the property. One of the better rooms is 34 or anything beach front or ocean front. If... more

I would like to address each concern this guest had in reference to our resort. 1. This guest was with a large group which took up 90% of the property and we were completely full that week. Being so we had to use all the rooms at the property. Certain rooms can be requested to assure that you get a...
