This was our second trip to Maya Tulum. We came in 2013 and felt like we had more to do and explore in Tulum. This resort is a great base. The atmosphere here is calm & spacious. Also this resort is somewhat centrally located between the strip of eco-chic boutique yoga/hippy hotels and the more subaurban, or, mainstream tourist areas.... More

I just returned from leading a yoga retreat for 16 people. This was the 5th international retreat I've led. We really need to leave the NE in the winter. I had heard so much about Maya Tulum. They run so many retreats. I was expecting this one to be easy and professional. Not so much. First the good. Cudos to... More

This was my second visit to Maya Tulum. I went the first time in 2007 for a 5 day MBS, and I fell in love. The food is amazing and fresh, the view from the restaurant is serene and unbeatable, and I love the yoga. This time however, I found our room dated. We stayed in room D, which has... More

I loved this place! Humberto and his staff in the restaurant were wonderful (friendly and attentive) and the food was fresh, healthy and beautiful - made with love and special care. My sisters and I wanted special lattes made with coconut and almond milk and the staff were most accommodating. Our room was just a hundred feet from the beach... More

We didnt stay here but we did do some treatments here. The massage I had from Marcelino was nice and he was friendly. However, the older woman running the spa reception desk was very unfriendly and rude. In fact one of the guys at the front desk even agreed with me about her! My hubby & I also did a... More

This was a treasured mother/daughter week. We hoped for a quiet, restorative environment where we could relax and let each day unfold. Yoga is offered twice daily as an option. We did yoga every morning and appreciated being exposed to several different kinds of practice. The spa is staffed by a broad variety of experienced professionals and again one can... More

Additionally, the wait staff was superb and the food was fresh daily. No internet in rooms (a bonus) and there were excursions, massage and yoga available (it was a yoga retreat after all). My girlfriend did yoga twice a day and I walked the beach and hung out. The restaurants around us were all very good - there were no... More

Second stay at Maya Tulum, as part of a Yoga retreat and it wasn't the last. Everything from location, food (i still crave and try to copy some of your amazing, fresh and nourishing recipes!), the cabanas, the ground, the spa treatment (can i take you home ? please ?) was wonderful. I came back rejuvenated, at peace and rested.... More

One if the largest hotel in Tulum, the cabañas/bungalows are located in a large tropical garden, and allows privacy. Most of other hotels in Tulum are small and the rooms are one next to each other with not much privacy. Maya Tulum offers daily yoga classes, good level and great yoga rooms with the sound of the sea. The vegetarian... More

Frazzled by a bad month, I arrived from New York City, and as soon as I stepped out of my taxi to the front desk, I immediately relaxed. My cabana felt more than "basic" as others described - you enter and hear the sound of the ocean all around you in the cabana. There are nice bath products, soft towels,... More
