The hotel is an amalgamation of five separate hotels therefore the quality and style of the rooms are very variable. We booked a garden room but were given a sea view which was great, but the room itself was very dated and could have been cleaner. However, the location and landscaping would be difficult to improve upon and the staff... More

Perhaps one of the most representative of the eco boutique hotels at one of the best beaches in Tulum! The Tulum hotel zone, like Cancun, is build on a sand dune, on one hand being the Caribbean on the other the mangroves. Very unlike Cancun, Tulum’s hotels are eco friendly boutiques, cabanas. No building stands taller than the tallest palm... More

We shared a two room cottage with our two adult daughters for 5 days before attending a wedding in Mexico City. Coincidentally, in vacations planned separately, my brother and his family were staying at a hotel a little further north on the beach. Mestizo was much more spacious and relaxed - no nightly salsa lessons - and the staff was... More

After an unhappy hotel experience in Cancun it was wonderful to arrive by negotiating a palm tree maze and find reception with a white sand floor. It's a lovely relaxing place. The room was spotless and very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the gorgeous beach. We swam before breakfast every day...it was heavenly. The staff were delightful..happy and friendly as... I stayed at the Mestizo Hotel Boutique for 6 days with my 14-year old daughter. It was an incredibly beautiful place, and the hotel & restaurant were charming and gracious. I loved many things about the Mestizo: the room was lovely with many charming touches, including an enormous tiled shower, colorful hammock and seats facing the ocean right outside, fresh... More

My husband I stayed at the Mestizo on our last night in Tulum after having a HORRIBLE experience at Amansala. We arrived to welcome cocktails, a chilled and scented face towel, and a welcome gift that included beach towels, hats and a beach bag. The room was super cute, with a view of the beach and a comfy bed. Willy... More

My wife and I stayed at Mestizo for 1 week (Feb 22 – Mar 1) and loved every minute. The staff was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to pamper us. Rudie and Tobias were special favorites. The food is a first rate selection of well-prepared local dishes, and the fresh fruit is awesome. We stayed in... More

Mestizo is a relaxed place which is a little more remote than the other hotels. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I requested a beach front room with balcony for our honeymoon which we did not get, but our room was still comfortable and steps to the beach. Continental breakfast was included and served... More

After a long winter in the states my son and I wanted a peaceful non resort to get some R & R. We also wanted to take in the ruins in Coba and enjoy the cenotes.. This is the place for a laid back no frills real beach experience..... We are right on the beach. No AC but the ocean... More
