It's a tough life, but somebody's got to do it. Love it that my biggest responsibility while staying at Piedra Escondida is deciding what flavor of margarita to have (Answer: Tamarindo). I've had margaritas this good only once before, at Mar y Sombra in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. We've come to Tulum for Thanksgiving about a half-dozen times, now. Had... More

Stayed for a week with my wife and our year and a half old daughter. Excellent location (good starting point for day trips to Coba', Cichen Itza etc.) , nice beach, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms (with a baby cots available on request), the restaurant serves lovely food at reasonable prices - would have gladly stayed twice as long... This place is like Gilligans Island reimagined by Vogue magazine. It’s really gorgeous. Not high end at all. The rooms have a rustic quality and everything’s a little lo-fi. But when you walk through the foyer out to the beach, I challenge you not to gasp. It’s heaven. It’s also in the main part of the hotel zone which is... More

Our room was very clean and cozy. The restaurant area has a very nice patio to eat and enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze. The food was absolutely fantastic. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. If we are to return to Tulum, we will stay here again.

We stayed at Piedra Escondida Nov. 5-7, 2011. It was amazing! Our vacation included 3 stops: Isla Mujeres, Tulum and Playa del Carmen. We only booked 2 nights at the Piedra Escondida bc we didnt know if there would be enough to do, but we ended up staying an extra night and cancelling one night at our next destination. We... More

We stayed at Piedra Escondida 28-29 october 2011. We were looking forward to stay in this hotel for three night but sadly we could only stay one night. Because of hurricane Rina the hotel (like all other hotels) was closed because people were evacuated. It felt like a little paradise. When you walk out your room you are inmediately on... More

We stayed in this beautiful resort for 3 nights and had the most relaxing time of our Mexico craziness. To start off, the resort is conveniently located near a bike and snorkel rental place. There is a small overpriced convenience store located opposite to the resort. There are few other resorts and restaurants around too so one isn't stuck eating... More

I stayed at this hotel with my parents while we were traveling across the Yucatan. After many adventure-packed days, some relaxing time at the beach was just what we needed. The private beach has hammocks and lounge chairs under umbrellas to enjoy the afternoon without getting too burned. The water was warm and on the calm side, so you can... More

Stayed 6 nights and loved it. Beautiful spot on the beach, very picturesque. Amazing place for a quiet retreat. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were always tidy with even the added touch of the fabulous towel creations! The pastas were great. Delicious homemade bread for morning toast. Yes there are mosquitos but nothing a little insect repellant... More

I think that most people that stay here are only there for a day or two. We were here for a week and all I can say is it was an experience we will never forget. Staff is great, food was ordinary but the room above the kitchen horrible. My wife and son had so many bug bites that we... More
