Piedra Escondida is the perfect place to stay in Tulum. Each room is within steps of the beach. You can hear the waves all day and night and the cool breeze keeps it comfortable. The hospitality is outstanding as is the convenient and tasty restaurant (again, just a few steps from the beach and rooms). The location can't be beat.... more

How can you describe a perfect experience? In two words, Piedra Escondida. My husband, daughter and I just returned from our 4th visit and we have already reserved for Feb 2008! The hotel is set on a small gorgeous, crescent shaped beach which is intimate but never crowded. Once you enter the property from the busy beach road, it is... more

February 2007 My wife and I have just spent two weeks in Yucatan, mostly at Tulum but four days at Merida. At Tulum we stayed at three hotels including Piedra Escondida which was absolutely wonderful. Set right on a glorious private beach which is a secluded cove with white sand and rocks on either side. The rooms are comfortable and... more

we didn't have a hotel booked in Tulum and litterally went along the coast and asked in every single one of them. Piedra Escondida was by far the best one we found. Of course, it depends on what you're looking for, but if you'd like a clean and pretty room, with real walls, non see-through wooden sticks like in most... more

We just got back from five nights at Piedra Escondida. I chose this hotel in part because of the good Tripadvisor reviews, but also because it was one of the few hotels in Tulum that seemed child-friendly. We chose well. This is a lovely if rustic place that offers a very good value for the money, particularly for families travelling... more

As big fans of Tulum, we tried Piedra as a follow up to the previous year's week at Suenos ( which is closed). Pros: -Friendly and accomidating staff -excellent restaurant -clean but stark rooms Things to be aware of: -Our week was "kids intensive". If you are into hearing the soothing lap of waves on the beach, the flutter of... more

Stayed for 3 nights in Oct. Had a quiet and relaxing getaway. Upper floor room was very clean with daily maid service. Lots of hot water. Slept well to the sounds of the ocean. Electricity is on during restaurant hours. Restaurant/bar is excellent with great service. (Gracias Caesar!) Beach is lovely but water has alot of rocky areas. Nearby beaches... more

We spent 5 nights and 6 days at Piedra Escondita. All in all it's a decent place. The view is one of the best, especially if you get a room close to the ocean. We watched the sun rise in the morning on the ocean's horizon from our bed in our room! You're literally 15 seconds walking distance from the... more
