I traveled to the Yucatan with my 11 year old brother-in-law to visit family. We stayed at Piedra Escondida for 2 nights and had a great time. The beach was right at our doorstep! We stayed here because I wanted something simple and near the beach. Our room was indeed simple, but very clean. We had dinner at the restaurant... more

On one of our trips to Cancun several years ago we stopped @ Piedra for lunch and never forgot about it. I went online with the owners and booked rooms and sent bank transfers for rooms with no problems. We arrived late in the evening and everyone was waiting with rooms prepared. the next several days were like staying on... more

My wife and I spent a week at Piedra Escondida. It's a small Posada directly on a quite beach. The beach is wonderful, because it's a little cove with rocks to the right and the left, and it gives a feeling of cozyness and protection. The rooms are simple, clean and fresh (no a/c but a fan on the ceiling... more

This small unpretentious hotel is a little jewel on the Riviera Maya. It was our second time at Piedra Escondida, a beautiful simple hotel with a private beach and everything you need. The rooms are minimally furnished to leave space for you, they are clean, full of sunlight and so close to the ocean you can't resist falling asleep at... more

we spent 8 nights at piedra escondida,it was very laid back and very enjoyable.the beach is beautiful but a little too much seaweed,we swam down the beach a little farther, the restaurant was very good, the chef and waiters very friendly, nothing is ever the same 2 days in a row,so we thought that was fun. the rooms are rustic and give a... more

We did a lot of Comparison Snooping once in Mexico, and we were very happy we chose Piedra Escondida. It is quiet and secluded, but very accessible. The beach is nice, the rooms clean, the restaurant charming. ROOMS: Very basic. The beds are unbearably hard, but I slept through the night. Peaceful and quiet at night. The water pressure is... more

Wife & I stayed for a week and loved every minute. The hotel is small, on a beautiful beach, with easy access to the sights. The restaurant staff are very friendly and the food was good. Rooms were nice and we loved sitting on the balcony in the evenings listening to the ocean. We spent several days walking south on... more

Piedra Escondida is the perfect place to stay in Tulum. Each room is within steps of the beach. You can hear the waves all day and night and the cool breeze keeps it comfortable. The hospitality is outstanding as is the convenient and tasty restaurant (again, just a few steps from the beach and rooms). The location can't be beat.... more

How can you describe a perfect experience? In two words, Piedra Escondida. My husband, daughter and I just returned from our 4th visit and we have already reserved for Feb 2008! The hotel is set on a small gorgeous, crescent shaped beach which is intimate but never crowded. Once you enter the property from the busy beach road, it is... more

February 2007 My wife and I have just spent two weeks in Yucatan, mostly at Tulum but four days at Merida. At Tulum we stayed at three hotels including Piedra Escondida which was absolutely wonderful. Set right on a glorious private beach which is a secluded cove with white sand and rocks on either side. The rooms are comfortable and... more
