My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Piedra Escondida during our trip to Tulum in mid-February. I felt compelled to write this review to counteract the nasty one below. If you are seeking luxury accommodations and pristine beaches with trucked-in sand, you should not go to Tulum. Head to an all-inclusive in Cancun or Playa del Carmen instead.... More

If you know anything about Tulum beach, it's that there's exactly one heavily traveled narrow road...with noise. The key at any of the beach hotels is not to have a room that doesn't back up to the road. Room 9 at this hotel is quiet and cool. The free breakfast with the room is not good at all. It's like... We are sitting on this hotel's private beach, separated from others' by massive coral/rock outcroppings on either side, approaching our second evening of four. The room is lovely if slightly rustic, the staff is fantastic, and the place is small enough to feel exclusive. Most visitors seem to keep to themselves, although last night we went to bed early, before... More

this hotel was very lovely: big room, clean bathroom and foremost a private beach which is super lovely! the only down sides: incredible high prices for an hotel which was low on basic amenities such as beach towels. good restaurant but also a bit pricey. would recommend outside of the season! Big plus: very nice staff.

This is not a good place. Rocky beach full of seaweed that nobody cleans, uncomfortable beds, toilets that often don't work, AC works from 10pm - 4am??? For $305 a night a bit too restrictive. Breakfast included is a joke, as food being served in the restaurant. $140 ($10)pesos for a scrambled eggs with black bean paste??? Service non existent.... More

Piedra Escondida is a very nice small hotel in a very good location at the beach in Tulum. It has a quiet little beach between two rocks with plenty of umbrella's and beds for the guests, shared with only one other hotel and rarely visited by vendors and others. The place has a restaurant, were we had dinner once during... More

Initially, I didn't want to stay at PE. I wanted something a little more luxy, with yoga on site. We couldn't find any place that fit the bill that cost less than 400/night (yes, we were looking a bit last minute). We choose PE because they had vacancies, decent price, and breakfast. Boy am I glad we ended up there!... More

My girlfriend and I didn’t want to leave! The beach at the hotel is stunning and we couldn’t wait to dive into the beautiful blue sea. There are loungers and hammocks on the beach so you can relax and forget about the world. The room was lovely with a big bed and couch for relaxing on (with the all important... More

Piedra Escondida is a lovely and serene boutique hotel nestled between two small rock cliffs with its own private beach. If you are looking for a relaxed and quiet place to stay that offers you great amenities such as wifi in your room (not very strong but present), air con, a good on site restaurant, daily happy hour, and beach service... I booked this hotel because friends were already staying there, so wasn't really sure what to expect, but when I got there I was very happy. All the rooms are lovely (I stayed in two while I was there because I booked so late), but the first one was exceptional - spacious, with a balcony overlooking the beach, a fan,... More
