My husband and I just returned from a weeks stay at Piedra Escondida. The beach was small and quiet with beach chairs and palapas. On the adjacent properties there are big rock outcroppings that create the privacy and eliminate foot traffic. I enjoyed the fact that I could enjoy the beach and leave my valuables in the rooms due the... more

We arrived from Boston and stayed 10 days. The rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space. 2 people in our group stayed in an upper room and the other 2 stayed in the lower rooms. Both rooms were really nice and all have views of the ocean. The entire staff were VERY nice and accommodating. The girls who cleaned... more

On our 7th trip to the Yucatan my wife and I look forward to staying at Piedra Escondida, which we had identified on a previous visit as a place that seemed to fit our vacation objectives: "simple elegance". No TV, no phone, clean room and linens, regional decor and a regional menu in the very nice restaurant. Alas, it was... more

Over Christmas/New Year holiday 2007 our family of 10 adults & 8 children - ranging in age from 74 to 6 - stayed at Piedra Escondida. We highly recommend it. Nestled on a wonderful private beach between the famous Tulum ruins and the wild & open biosphere it was ideal. Very comfortable, charming, friendly with a great restaurant on site... more

We have just returned from a two week stay at Piedra Escondida in Tulum, where we had the most relaxing and peaceful time. Piedra Escondida is a small hotel with eight beach facing rooms in a small bay in Tulum. The beach is extremely quiet and there are days where you can have it all to yourself. Even on busy... more

My partner and I stayed in the hotel for the 2nd week of our holiday in the yucatan, from 27/01/08 to 03/02/08. We visited the wednesday before and fell in love with the beach, it is so picture perfect. We had lunch in the resturant and viewed one of the rooms, number 3 and booked a weeks stay. We paid... more

We stayed at Piedra Escondida for a week in Jan 08, in their best room (#4). The room was very nice, large, quiet, and clean, with a large closet and with a great view of the beach. And there was electricity 24 hours, which was nice. However overall we were disappointed given the high price we were paying at this... more

Piedra Escondida is a beautiful, small hotel on a pretty little beach. The balconies have great views of the water. But our room, #2, backed onto the main road, which was very noisy with trucks and taxis late into each night of our five-night stay. The bathroom smelled so bad, even after just being cleaned, that we had to keep... more

My wife, our three children, and I spent 3 great nights at the cozy, upscale Piedra Escondida in December 2007. The rooms were exceedingly clean and well-appointed, the staff very helpful, the restaurant served the best Italian food (pasta De Cecco with vergin olive oil and parmesan cheese! breakfast, which was included, was simply fantastic), AND we had PE's secluded... more

I traveled to the Yucatan with my 11 year old brother-in-law to visit family. We stayed at Piedra Escondida for 2 nights and had a great time. The beach was right at our doorstep! We stayed here because I wanted something simple and near the beach. Our room was indeed simple, but very clean. We had dinner at the restaurant... more
