Initially, I didn't want to stay at PE. I wanted something a little more luxy, with yoga on site. We couldn't find any place that fit the bill that cost less than 400/night (yes, we were looking a bit last minute). We choose PE because they had vacancies, decent price, and breakfast. Boy am I glad we ended up there!... More

My girlfriend and I didn’t want to leave! The beach at the hotel is stunning and we couldn’t wait to dive into the beautiful blue sea. There are loungers and hammocks on the beach so you can relax and forget about the world. The room was lovely with a big bed and couch for relaxing on (with the all important... More

Piedra Escondida is a lovely and serene boutique hotel nestled between two small rock cliffs with its own private beach. If you are looking for a relaxed and quiet place to stay that offers you great amenities such as wifi in your room (not very strong but present), air con, a good on site restaurant, daily happy hour, and beach service... I booked this hotel because friends were already staying there, so wasn't really sure what to expect, but when I got there I was very happy. All the rooms are lovely (I stayed in two while I was there because I booked so late), but the first one was exceptional - spacious, with a balcony overlooking the beach, a fan,... More

Some friends and I stumbled upon Piedra Escondida looking for some place to eat. All four of us ordered different dinners and all agreed it was one of the best meals we had ever had. Great scenery and service as well. Hoping to stay in one of their cabanas on my next trip!

This restaurant was the best! The staff and owner were great! The food was awesome! It was a bit cold the night we dined there and we started off outside on the patio deck, we tried to move closer to the restaurant, but it was still cool, and moved again to inside the restaurant. No complaining from the staff, just... More

Amid all the monster hotels and hoopla of the Cancun to Tulum area, this lovely little hotel right on the beach in a low key area was priceless! Private little curve of white sand beach, lovely rooms, great food, and on a Friday night they had a good live band.... from Argentina no less! Managed tyo find a corner for... More

Traveled to Mexico for the first time for a family vacation to escape this long, cold, New England winter. I now embarrassingly admit I was against traveling to Mexico. I was worried it would not be safe. I was completely wrong! We had a wonderful experience! We never felt like we were not safe. We walked around, left our property... More

Stayed for three nights. Found the facility to be quite well kept. No issues with sea water/fresh water in the taps. The AC on in the middle of the night only was not *the best* as I like to head to bed at 9-9:30...and the AC only comes on after 10:00 Not a huge issue though. The food and the... More

We were looking for a place to stay 2 nights spontaneously at the Playa Maya in Tulum. After looking at several hotels, already the first impression of the Piedra Escondida was great, as we got a very warm welcome at the reception. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Dejanira (reception) and Marcelo (?) (Barkeeper/Restaurant). Our room above... More
