Zamas was beautiful! Our bugalow was huge and clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the food was yummy. The beach is small but they keep it raked and clean. We had a great time and would definately return.

We thought we'd escape Merida for a few days and have a nice time by the beach. Our room was not ready when we arrived so we ate at the restaurant, which had great reviews. The food was expensive and not memorable at all. The staff is indifferent with guests needs. When our room was ready, we were led to... More

Stayed in Room 14. Sorry it's taken us so long to write this review! I was told that 14 was one of the newly built rooms, and gosh, it was fantastic. Tulum is not a place for the weak spirited or the boring. We had exactly 3 bugs and 1 spider and probably 4 mosquitoes, but we could handle that.... More

Susan and Daniel, 04 December 2007 This letter is to thank you for the wonderful time that we had when we stayed at Zamas from 8-11 November 2007. Here is a brief history, a friend of mine whose name is Joy has been to Mexico numerous times over the last ten years, I have never been on a vacation before... More

We stayed at Zamas for a few nights at the end of November 2007 and had a wonderful experience. We were expecting to be "roughing it" a bit, but we found the small beachfront cabanas to be far from "rustic." Yes, the shower was a little salty and everything's solar powered. However, the room was very, very clean; the bed... More

Zamas, like most of the beachside hotels in Tulum, was overpriced and trying a little too hard to be cool. If I had it to do over, I would have stayed elsewhere and just visited the restaurant. The accomodations are artistic and very clean, but not very private. They are somewhat open to the elements, and very close to the... More

Zamas is nothing like its website predicts. We enjoyed our time in Tulum, but mainly because we spent a lot of time on other areas of the beach. We live in Mexico, enjoy small hotels far away from the all-inclusive crowd, and we came to the conclusion that Zamas is not worth the money. You can find much nicer places... More

Zamas is exactly what I was hoping it would be: quaint, charming, rustic but comfortable, friendly and remote. We couldn't help but be disappointed by the damage done by Hurricaine Dean. It was more than we had expected. Many of Zamas's cabanas were closed for repairs, and their beach had been torn up. But the bulldozers were being put to... More

The perfect cabana on the beach: don't expect crisp white hotel service, but that is not why you go to Zamas. This is about doing something a bit different. Quite basic, but totally worth it. Restuarant was great, good wholesome food, healthy breakfasts, tasty lunches and fresh fish for dinner. Lots of live music in the evening, which added to... More

Went there for a wedding and it was great. Great food, great atmosphere, just all around fun. A beautiful place.
