I loved the relaxed atmosphere. Great beach access and beautiful views from the restaurant. While I was there they had a visiting guest chef from San Francisco who made some delightful dinner specials, even some homemade coconut ice cream! The restaurant had live music which added to the dinner atmosphere. You can walk along the beach and also the road... More

I could not recommend Zamas more. We had a terrible experience at our first hotel in Tulum, but were planning to switch to Zamas mid-stay anyway. We asked to check in early, and they happily accommodated us. We stayed in two different hotel rooms -- a Garden and Beachfront. The Garden room was big and really comfortable. The Beachfront was... Zamas has a cluster of very unique little bungalows, several on the beach and then more across the road on the "jungle" side. The particular bungalow we had was on the jungle side, was quite spacious, however, if we didn't have every window open plus the door and fan running, it proved to be horribly hot and at times downright... Zara's is a unique place with little bungalows, which are very roomy. The hammocks on the porch are great and very relaxing. There is not any aircon but the fans are good and so is the ocean breeze. We had a Seaview from our porch. The beach was very wind blown while we were there but there is a pool... More

A fabulous location, string quenching margaritas, stunning views, great little shopping strip, huge rooms all v eco friendly and an amazing plate of tacos! Staff were top notch helpful when asked for advice.

I had a beachside cabana booked for my last few nights in Mexico at Zamas. The bedroom of my cabana (not including the bathroom) was actually smaller than the last hostel I stayed at, which cost me $10 a night. The bed itself was quite small, I'm about 5 ft 6 and had to sleep diagonally most nights to stop... More

We booked the "cozy" beachfront room. Cozy is a nice way of saying... tiny and not very inviting. The hammocks out front were nice as were the loungers, however the seaweed along the shore left for ecological reasons created an unpleasant odor of rotting material. Maybe if it was not left in standing water, it would not result in such... More

Dear Barbara, I’m very sorry to hear that you were disappointed in your stay. Many guests love the Small Beachfront rooms for their boho-beach vibe but as they are very small rooms they are not for everyone. With this in mind and with our intention to provide you with outstanding customer service, we offered you a complimentary room upgrade. When... More

We liked the Zamas. It had a good location; the food was OK (across the street was better) and it delivered as promised - no air conditioning, sleeping under a mosquito net, no TV, no Internet in the room - in short a quiet stay. Then we went to check out. As I normally do, I gave them my CC... More

Beautiful spot, close to the sea. Very friendly people, good food, nice place to stay, beautifully decorated. Nice hammocks in front of the hut. We really enjoyed it. The only minor thing was that the sea was not very clear because of the algues. But they were working on it.

Private ocean access, and continuously open restaurant facing it, you need never leave the grounds of this lovely, calm & welcoming resort on your stay in Tulum, unless you wanted to rent a bicycle to ride to the nearby ruins, or cross the road to use their private pool. I went off season in late August/early Sept. and was treated... More
