There ay be more traffic on the road now but after our 7th visit to Zamas it remains my favorite winter get away place.Between fancy/boutique vibe and funky rustic...somewhere in the middle, Zamas is just right. Salvador at the front "desk", under a palapa roof, handles everything smoothly. Sarah's smile at breakfast is a great was to start the day... More

We stayed in three places during our time in Tulum. This was the best place. We wanted to stay in an "Eco-resort" in a Cabaña, and this was the perfect choice. The only downside we found was that the cabanas were close to the road and the noise in the morning made it hard to sleep. I don't know if... More

Food, amazing. The View, fantastic. But Tuluum has been discovered so there is tons of traffic on the road. But it does not matter since the breeze is constant and the temperature is really just perfect. You do not hear the traffic . We would just sit on the beach and get so relaxed, listening to the waves. The owners... More

I had been wanting to visit Tulum for a while and after seeing the New York Times 36 hour travel video in which they state that "to be in Tulum means to eat at Zamas, stay at Zamas, drink at Zamas” I called them up and reserved a room for two weeks! Tulum is a really special destination and Zamas... More

We booked 4 days in February 2015 and just before we were to set off I read some recent reviews on Tripadvisor and freaked out! I was especially nervous since I think our stay was non-refundable, we booked during high season AND our options were limited even if we could wriggle out of the dates. So, I took a deep... More

Honestly no other word for it. Starts at the reception desk. A good NYT review doesn't meant you can just treat people like nothing. Those days are over. My call started with whether or not they rented beach chairs, which I was trying to find out for a friend before considering a booking there. "Wait a moment"... laughter and talking... More

Zamas is great at what it's set out to be. It's a relaxing, beach side collection of villas, set in the heart of tulum's beach hotels (around a 20 minute cycle to town, or a 5 minute drive). The beach is small, quiet and relaxing due to its privacy, and the restaurant is excellent, particularly the view. The staff were... More

I stayed at Zamas for four nights In February with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it. From the restaurant, to the beach, to the jungle bungalow, it was exactly what we wanted for a beach getaway. I read the reviews on here and after experiencing Zamas firsthand, I think some travelers are expecting a typical U.S.-style beach hotel with... More

We only went to the restaurant, but the food was terrific and service was good. It was reasonably priced (around $130 for 6 meals & drinks). But it was great because the kids could go play on the beach while we sat at the restaurant, and then we all went down there afterwards and they were fine with us using... More
