The service was very good, everyone very polite. Although the food is good, there´s not much variety at the restaurant (if you want to eat there all your stay), and it´s a bit expensive. The room the nicest view of the sea and it wasn´t very warm at all, but.... it needs painting and maintenance in small details, such as... more

As an avid traveler, and devoted tripadvisor researcher, you must be careful about the negative comments you read, such as the one below. My group and I had the pleasure to experience Cabanas Copal on June 13, 2009, for our Mayan Cosmic Wedding Ceremony, reception, and leisure. Everything about this hidden gem is amazing. I'm a very shrewd consumer, enjoy... more

We imagined this place would allow us to get closer to nature, but that was a mistake. We thought we knew what we were getting into : an eco resort without electricity and sea water but I don’t think you can ever really prepare yourself to what you discover when arriving : when we arrived and were taken to our... more

For those of you looking to plan a wedding that is beautiful and unique I must say that the Mayan ceremony offered by Maya Spa is AMAZING! My husband and I had our wedding at Cabanas Copal and they arranged everything for us. We had the ceremony on the beach with the very basics, just the 2 of us there,... more

After staying 2 nights at a cheap cabana at Zahra (read my review), I thought I'd treat myself to 2 more expensive nights at Copal. But it wasn't really much of a treat. The cabana was basically no different than the cheap one at Zahra, with the exception of being a bit larger, having its own bathroom and a partial... more

This is a great place to stay if you want a camping/ "outdoorsy" experience. I love being at the beach so I loved it. We stayed in a ocean view cabana #19. Although our cabana had 2 plates of glass to buffer the wind off the ocean, it was extremely windy (might have been the time of year as it... more

This was our third trip to the hotel region outside of Tulum. We had walked thru Copal on earlier trips and were not sure it would be a good place to stay. However this year the hotel and air prices were just right and we took a chance on Copal. We loved every minute of our stay there. We had... more

Like most reviews said, if you're looking for something very rustic, scenic, and peaceful, Cabanas Copal is great. If you want to be pampered with electricity, a gym, swimming pools, and all that, Cabanas Copal is not for you. We stayed in the seaview king #23 and loved the view. Each morning, I was woken up at 6:30 by the... more

We stayed here with friends in Late February. This is truly a Eco Resort. No electricity in the Cabanas, with salt water showers. Its a nice place to stay if you are not high maintenance. Our cabana (#8) was not the best on the resort. . .a little shabby and stained. Our friend's cabana (13), however, was clean. Food was... more
